Hi I am new to this forum, so would like to start with a ‘Hello’. I am in the market to buy an Elise and thought the forum would be a good starting point for advice on what to look out for. I think I am looking for an S2. I am not looking to use the car on a daily basis and suspect I will do no more than 3000 miles a year. Is doing low mileage a problem with these engines or any specific engine? Are there key issues I should be looking for when viewing cars for sale? Many thanks

Hi to all, I currently own a kitcar but due to the terrible weather, the car being open top with no roof and the other half not too happy having to climb in, I have been looking at selling up and getting an Elise S2. I know I like them, they are great driving cars (much like my Fury) but I have never really had a look around one or a ride in one. Is there anyone around the Spalding/Peterborough area that would be willing to show me their car and possibly take me out for a spin? Happy to drive to you if that is easier. Would like to chat about what are the things to look out for and any advice you can give really? Thanks in advance The attac…

I'm due to renew insurance on my cars, they're on a combined policy with Footman James who I've been with for some years. Like all car insurances even the specialist polices have gone up immensely. Just to ask members who they use - especially if they insure more than one vehicle on their policy. Mine has the classic Elan at agreed value and S1 Elise on agreed value plus Evora at market price. Thanks in advance, Paul

After over 11 years of ownership I have decided it is time to move my beloved 111S Type 25 on. Many of you on the forum know FOG having been a regular at LITP, particularly in the early days. The car has brought me so much fun and I have made so many new friends since being part of the Lotus family. Kim and I are not getting any younger and want to do some touring in Europe and sadly the Elise is to small and too hardcore for us BOTH to enjoy, and my wife doesn’t travel light!! We both have the itch for a Jag F Type and sometimes itches must be scratched. The T25 drives amazingly well and keeps up with many of my pals with Evoras and Exige V6, Charlie and I had a gr…

Just picked these up. Very happy with them. Great to have a wet and dry set of W&T for the track. And being the press forged wheel set, strong and light.

After a fab Midlands Tick run yesterday my car went to alloy refurb at a local guy who has a good review. Arrived at the site only to find my locking wheel nut was missing, I find out it was still at central lotus workshop! so I had to drive all the way from south Hinckley to Notts and back again given also hold up on M1 to deal with. When I arrived at Central they found my lock nut and then suggested I get my alloys refurb at their specialists which saved me driving all way back and matched the price. so a nightmare day turned out ok hopefully !

I’m a really straight forward kind of guy. What you see is what you get. What I don’t stand for is shit service. My car went back to Lotus to have a few niggles ironed out. If it could be fixed by tightening or adjusting then no problem. However, when something needed replacing, forget it!! It’s not covered by Lotus warranty and has been rejected. So after less than 3 months of ownership, I am looking down the barrel of a few grand for a new headlight where some of the LED lights have failed (running lights & indicator lights). I’m now forced to battle with the dealership to get it sorted. Right now, Lotus warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. I didn’…
