Popular Post Foggy
After over 11 years of ownership I have decided it is time to move my beloved 111S Type 25 on. Many of you on the forum know FOG having been a regular at LITP, particularly in the early days. The car has brought me so much fun and I have made so many new friends since being part of the Lotus family. Kim and I are not getting any younger and want to do some touring in Europe and sadly the Elise is to small and too hardcore for us BOTH to enjoy, and my wife doesn’t travel light!! We both have the itch for a Jag F Type and sometimes itches must be scratched. The T25 drives amazingly well and keeps up with many of my pals with Evoras and Exige V6, Charlie and I had a great battle through the lanes of Cornwall in July when his Esprit Turbo couldn’t shake me. The car is very original although has had a replacement engine after a catastrophic head gasket failure. Larinni exhaust fitted which sounds amazing and I replaced the rear lights with the newer LED type as the old ones had let water in (still have original). It is one of only 25 cars made, although they didn’t number the 111S versions, they rolled these out after doing the initial run of 50 numbered standard 120 bhp cars, the 111S is the 160bhp VVC car and has electric windows, bigger 8 spoke ‘Spider’ wheels. Comes with colour coded hard top and canvas soft top, also have car cover. Front brakes recently replaced and oil and filters service done in June. The bodywork/paintwork will need some attention in places, particularly the front clam and rear parts of the cills. I have used and enjoyed the car not just stuck it in the garage. With that in mind, I would rather sell it to someone who understands what this car is and it’s rarity rather than a dealer just standardise it as just a basic car. With the fact that it needs some paint repair work I would be looking for £22,500 so as not to be silly. There is only one other T25 for sale, currently, which is the standard 120bhp car at £27,000. If anyone is interested or know someone who might be, I am happy to give a rundown of the cars history and what has been done over the years. I would love to be able to keep the car and watch it keep appreciating as a classic, but do not have the funds to keep it and buy another😢. Its been great being part of MLOC over all these years and who knows, we might well be back when the itch has been scratched. Any questions please let me know. Cheers, Simon

smithpaulg
Foggy, haven't seen you for ages, wasnt sure whether you still had the car. Probably the last time we met was when i had my T23 and it has been a while since i sold it! Like you, I had been hankering to do a euro tour for some time and finally, last year we did 3500 miles in the Exige. It handled it with excellence but we packed light and had to limit the wine we could bring back. On return, i started to comb the classified for a Jag XKR, have had several jags before, to have in addition to the Lotus. However, after test-driving an Evora, decided that fitted the bill perfectly. More practical, but with the lotus dna that we love!! We are off to Switzerland again in a couple of weeks to drive some more passes. Before you go down the jag route, just check out the evoras as i didnt think storage was as good in the f-type (assuming you are going soft top and not coupe!!) anyway good luck in the car hunt and enjoy your euro tours! Hopefully we will see you on an mloc run even if to show off you jag!! Paul
