Dr H Posted August 17, 2018 Author Posted August 17, 2018 If he sorts out your Integrale then maybe I'll drop it over to him! And it's not really Italian is it, it's from near Newark!
The Cakes Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Another week and it should be sorted, fingers crossed! That’s if he can remember where everything goes There’s worse places than Newark but doesn’t have the same ring to it as Turin! You’ll get more satisfaction if you sort it but Gav will have a solution I’m sure.

Dr H Posted August 19, 2018 Author Posted August 19, 2018 Yep and yep. They can't go any tighter now, I've kept tightening them bit by bit to try and stop the leaks and it's got to the point where they are starting to 'skip' if I try to go tighter.
Dr H Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 Nice. Wonder what replicas they are? Could Be Hawks, or Alloras or LBs. Having 2 is just greedy
Reg Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Red one is a Hawk, white one is a Transformer cars... 😉
timbo Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Does the white one turn into some sort of robot superhero then? (Sorry)
Dr H Posted August 22, 2018 Author Posted August 22, 2018 Wish mine would transform in to a working completed car! Apparently they were on their way to an event in Norway.
Brian Birtwhistle Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Those double deck trailers always scare me, the centre of gravity must be higher than is ideal. And a Discovery isn't the most stable of towing platforms, with all the 4x4 features like long travel suspension actually working against you. I've been told that the lightweight double deck 7.5 tonners are scary things to drive when fully laden, but that must be worse.
timbo Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Back to the leaks - try a bead of sealant under the hoses before clamping up. Don't tighten down fully until the sealant has cured, then give the clamps a final 1/2 turn on the screw.
Dr H Posted August 24, 2018 Author Posted August 24, 2018 Might get time over the weekend to have a look at it. Will drain the system - again! - and see what I can come up with.....
Dr H Posted August 25, 2018 Author Posted August 25, 2018 Right - so I've drained it down again and pulled the hoses and pipes that were weeping. Still a bit confused as to why the interfaces between the silicone hoses and new aluminium pipes but I might have found the issue with the joints to the thermostat housing: I reckon this pitting is causing the slight weeping? Getting the housing off the engine isn't an option so I guess I either sand it smooth or fill it with some epoxy metal. What say MLOC?
