What Do You Think....

evening all.

as all have said above, dans - ex is a great bit of kit,

triggers broom springs to mind as regards whats original, but everything that could be done / spent to improve it has been.... and more.

colour is same as mine, infact both were done with 5 days of each other un known to both of us.

its a GT2 Porsche colour - Rivera blue.

I think it really suits the shape of the exige, and with black wheels / grills is a real head turner. not as bright as your old green machine,

a fraction more sedate to suit your advancing maturity :).

I'm sure you could buy it around that price and run it for 2/3 years and not lose anything, so financially its a sound investment.

only alternative i can see is an RGB but they are even more £ and will lose a little more money as the v6 becomes the "newest and best" incarnation of the exile.

all imho of course.

happy shopping

Well,

I've been to look today, it's truely stunning, he pulled the garage door up and wow.....

Needs 2 rear tyres, temp/oil gage needs fixing, last had an oil change in November...

The lads only had it a year and done 1500 miles in it..

We haven't discussed price yet but he said he would fix all the above if we agreed a price....

I'm just umming and rrrrr img now what I'm prepared to pay or what I think it's worth.. Deffo not his asking price...

He took me out for a good drive, and Jesus Christ, it goes like absolute stink, totally amazing.. Prison or a ditch beckons if not driven appropriately...

I'm having a think whether this or wait and find a 240 upgrade to test first....

BUT it did have all the right bits that Im after....

To be continued.....

Scatty offer him what you think you could sell it for. Its a niche car within a niche, that will limit the ease of resale IMO. If you are going to keep it forever thats irrelevant though. Good luck     :)

You know my opinion on the price and what I think it's worth smile.png

If you are seriosuly thinking about it I'd get it checked out by someone who knows the Honda conversions (even if it means paying a specialist for an hour check). It was indeed lavished for a number of years, but experience shows that when running 250bhp+ (nearly 350bhp in this case) things do wear out and need replacing i.e. engine mounts, pull on chassis points due to torque, driveshafts etc). I'm not saying it needs anything definitely but I've seen many people buy Honda converted cars and end up with a big bill putting bits right.

It sounds like he has looked after it i.e. lives in a garage etc but has he recently had it checked over by someone who knows these?

I'm not trying to scare you as it is a lovely and lavised upon car. I'd just hate for you to be the one who gets stung with the upkeep build that is often needed on Honda converted cars that have been around for a while.

Hope that helps smile.png

Couple of things....

If something stopped you, then something isn't right and you might not be 100% happy?

Why is he selling after 1500 miles and just 12months ownership?

If it was so loved and cherished, wouldn't you fix the non working gauge and fit new tyres if you were going to sell?

Fish has some good points there scatty.

Not sure why you wouldn't fix the huge at least especially if it could be a decision maker.

Also I think it's been up for sale for a while.

Get him to fix it Scatty, THEN negotiate a price. Bid the chap in the balls, start at a price in the low 20's. If it's a no go, you could always get a (slower) S1 Exige for that money....

4 pages Scatty. Don't ever turn your back on us again, you're loved by all ;-D

Thanks Kurt...

He said he would fix all....but your right , surely you would fix before selling. I had my front splitter relaquered the day before selling...

I suppose if I'm keen I could pay Gav to take a butchers and dig a bit deeper....

There's no rush, I'm glad just to be back in the fold... Car less....... :-)

Scatty, its a lovely car. However if you are going to keep it forever its worth whatever you are willing to pay. If you are a car changer though, its as i say a niche within a niche. Thats why its been for sale for long.

If you are not going to keep it for a long time, buy a mainstream Lotus IMO
