Alex B Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 where is the best reference point to measure the ride height of my car from? when parked next to another rover k s2 yesterday I noticed my rear sits a lot lower than his but the front is roughly the same. Both on standard billies
stockhome Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Here you go you need to measure from jacking points A and B
Alex B Posted July 1, 2013 Author Posted July 1, 2013 Cheers will do it once I get home. Standard ride heights anyone?
Jonathan E Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 130 /130 but I think that will be ballasted? Lotus always quote their ride height figures that way. 75kg in each seat and half a tank of petrol.
Martin R Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 A lot of people think they are better with 5 or 10mm rake front to back. 125 front 130 rear might be worth a try?
Alex B Posted July 1, 2013 Author Posted July 1, 2013 My rear looks lower as the wheels sit in the arches a lot more than the fronts, will snap a quick picture on my way out to work n measure it when I get back later
DeanB Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I thought standard suspension was not adjustable for ride height? How would it get low at the back without something breaking or having lead weights in the boot? The springs wouldn't both lose strength at the same time would they?

Dean, i have a feeling there is a circlip you can move on standard Bilsteins to adjust the ride height?
jody391 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Yeah when looking into ride height the consensus was to run with "Rake" in order for the diffuser to work. Also having played with the suspension brackets alot you can change the ride height by changing the shock mount brackets, could of been installed upside down for instance (been there done that!)
scatty Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Although jody's theory is somewhat flawed or even floored, when me and him are both in the car. I've seen more ground clearance on a scalextric car. But I suppose we are both of athletic build.... :-)
P4N Lotus Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 130/130. When I had adjustable suspension on mine I did have it set 120/130 , doesn't sound like much but it does change the look of the car and ride, after clipping it on just about every speed bump around I think I took advice of 125/135 to get a bit more clearance but keep the aggressive rake look
