Done my first trackday on Friday at Donnington Park .It was fantastic and a must for everyone, the sence of grip is out of this world especially when you see a VX220 following you through Craner Curves and then a swift exit through the gravel trap and into the tyre wall . His face was a picture when they bought his car back on the recovery vehicle . The only downside was that he wasted 30mins of my tracktime.

M6 northbound yesterday between j15/16 a yellow cupra r stopped on the hard shoulder tending to some sort of incident- only thing is it definitely had red strobes in the rear lights- couldn't get a proper look as I only noticed the strobes once I had passed it (was going southbound at the time) but guessing it's the next level of stealth fed cars. They'll be in elises next- oh actually they'd be no good- need at least a top end of 159 before the constabulary would consider them for their free trackday on taxpayers roads. (cross posted from british cars bbs- if this is true we all need to know about it)

I have the Lotus / Momo removeable steering wheel that has a Key and a lock that slide out of the barrel. Problem is that I have lost the lock part some how. Its the little Brass bit.... Does anyone know where I can get a replacement from? I asked at my dealers and they say that they can't get a replacement lock and key from Lotus, because they don't do it as a spare part. I understand its part of whats called a snap off kit. Has anyone got any contact numbers, web addresses that might be of help in my search for this lock and key? Cheers

I decided to try and tax my car online today. Started off OK (after a little difficulty in locating the correct reference number) and got to the part where it asked me to confirm that the car details were correct. Pressed enter to confirm and got a message saying that I could not use the online system because I didn't have a "New Style" MOT certificate. Apparently these are larger documents than the traditional MOT. Funny thing is that I had my car MOT'd this morning and got a certificate exactly the same as previous years. Anyone seen these new style MOT's?

Guys Does anyone work for a company to do with or have very good knowledge of card operated door entry systems. I need to find out what card reader will read the following cards. Card 1 ( white with a small HID sign ) is a HID prox 125KHz card Card 2 ( grey ) is a Cotag 125 KHz card The reader has to have a RS 232 interface with either TTL or RS232 voltage level. Any Help would be appreciated Cheers

Hi Dave, any chance of some help? I have a low res image of a lace doyle, which I have enlarged, but due to low res ness, it is a bit craggy around the edges, have sharpened but its just not good enough. Median, just makes all the lace holes smaller. Its not far off, just a little more blurry than I'd like..... I've run out of tricks, any ideas please? thanks James

To continue the topic title...is the Elise the only car to have a cigarette lighter yet no ashtray? For a smoker...its sooo bloody annoying. I should just give up I suppose instead of flicking ash out the window only to have it stick to my clean bodywork. Bah.

Part exed the S1 111s against a S2 135 sport in Laser blue. Is it going to be much slower as the 111 is 145bhp and the S2 is 135. The S2 is supposed to be more friendly for everyday use. Is that the case. I did not put any mods on the S1, should I on the S2? Either way.......can't wait until pick it up on Saturday week.

I've got a few spares from a 1952 Morris Oxford series MO that I used to have. Before I put them on Ebay, I thought if anyone on here had (or knows someone who has) an Oxford or Minor then they could have them.

B Bob and I were talking about meeting up at Donnington Services M1 before we drive down to J15a. So anyone else want to join? Departure will be about 9:30 as J15a is about 60 miles down the M1 (unless there's a more fun route there?). 1. Steve & Fiona

Hi all Been recommended to join on here by Elaine. She says your all nice people and very welcoming Anyways, im from Burton Car Club, in Burton on Trent. I co-run the club, and I now own a Black VX220 Turbo. I have always been inclined to vauxhalls, so i decided a few weeks back to get one Not much done to it yet, new sound system in with multimedia etc. New paintwork going on soon, with vx racing liveries, so it should look proper different in the next few weeks. Im usually a busy chap doing car shows nationwide, Newark and Brighton coming up soon, but it would be nice when I can find the time to meet up with some of you guys and share the driving…
