Martin R Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I know you are all going to be amazed im old enough to have a Nephew that will be 21 shortly. I look far to young. However i need a few ideas. I normally bung him a few quid on birthdays and he no doubt uses it as he sees fit. A 21st birthday is to me something special. I feel i need to mark it with a " proper " present. Something he could keep and look back on possibly? It would be far easier for a girl. Im struggling for the right something. Suggestions please?
scatty Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Mmmmmm???? One of those amazing adventures is always good. a driving experience, flying or whatever they are into. Although its not something you can keep. An expensive pen is an option, which could also be engraved. Maybe the younger members will have better ideas. I think I'm now classed as old...
Martin R Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 A driving experience is the back up plan. I let him drive the S2. His first words were, hmm the throttle response is fantastic. I chucked him out the driving seat shortly after as he was getting a little cocky ( as you do at 20 years old )
chrislane Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Hipflask + a nice bottle of 21 yo wiskey to go in it?
Laura Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 For my brother's 21st last year we got him a watch, something nice to keep.
Acehole Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Hipflask + a nice bottle of 21 yo wiskey to go in it? I thought he was 21 not 50 ?
russelld Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 A signet ring that reflects his personality / taste ( could be with his zodiac sign, birthstone, football club emblem, car badge, his initial ). Not too expensive and if you get it right & he likes it he would always wear it. & a driving experience in a Lotus !!
Jonathan E Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I'd go with a watch, nice basic automatic, probably a seiko monster, bombproof reliable quality at a great price £110-£3000 depends how flush your are Martin. I'd also go throw a tenner at this: http://www.bloodhoun...com/donate-join
rocketian Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 A session in a flight simulater is great fun - i had a go here http://www.flyfsm.co.uk/ at Coventry airport. Don't believe the prices on the website - there are often Groupon offers. Flew a Boing 737 round the Alps, finishing with a tricky landing at innsbruck - with a dogleg approach round a mountain.
