Thank you Hi Mutley I did stay for the raffle draw, my tickets didn't win a prize. My name wasn't linked to the raffle ticket numbers so they wouldn't have been able to trace back to me. There were a number of prizes that weren't claimed. Hopefully the winning numbers associated with those prizes were kept so they can be published. If the rightful winners of the raffle prizes can't be traced or they may have thrown away their tickets, then I would suggest that the Rainbows charity should benefit. They have benefitted from the initial purchase of the raffle tickets and it is a good cause.
Rob999 Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Yes I was in the same position, had to leave early and my name wasn’t taken for the tickets but I do still have them….

I think it's really tasteful and well-resolved. In case anyone wasn't sure, this was a joke by the way 😊 And yes, I know that if you find yourself explaining that one of your jokes is, in fact, a joke, then perhaps it doesn't deserve the title!
duncx Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 I got it Dean, maybe we share a certain 'special' sense of humour Although now I look at it again it has a certain something .......hmmmm.....?

Thank you Hi Andrew, Apologies for the delay in replying to this, there has been much to deal with since Sunday as you might imagine on top of which, as you may have seen, I have also sold my Lotus so a bit of a busy week. I have now posted up the winning ticket numbers for the unclaimed prizes for you and anyone else to check against. You can find the unclaimed prize numbers here:- https://www.midlandslotus.co.uk/forum/topic/69513-litp-2022-unclaimed-raffle-prizes/#comment-329771 All the best Phil
Mutley00 Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 Thanks Phil, Sorry - I've only just read about your car sale. Sad times for the MLOC community indeed. Thanks for your reply about the tickets, gutted I didn't win a concours Essex Esprit Turbo 😒. Regards, Andrew
series_one Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Thank you 😃😊🥳 Hypo and I had a fantastic time. First holiday for me in 3 years, and the best kind - Lotusing ❤️ The photos say it best! I can’t say enough what a wonderful feeling it was to receive the award. I’m still beaming. As it is in our hands we feel it is important for us to understand the reason for the Mark Hodgkinson trophy, could someone please share the backstory? I have done a forum search to no avail. Thanks. There are often side stories that bring added feelings, and there is one here. Hypo and I stripped and rebuilt the 340R last year (There is a garage thread on seloc if you are interested). At the start of that year both his parents passed away unexpectedly within weeks of each other. Rebuilding the 340R gave Hypo something to focus on and feel successful about during a time of terrible grief. We are rightly proud of the result and being at LitP and receiving the award has given Hypo a great feeling of pride and joy. 😊😎👍🏻 Driving and competing in Lotus cars is very much my foremost love, so I enjoyed every bit of LitP, particularly keeping up with the 2 local boys infront of me in group 7 on Sunday 🤩. Fantastic organising team! Thank you and see you next year!
DeanB Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 I'm so pleased you guys came to LitP. It was a better weekend for having you both there, and this is what the Mark Hodgkinson Trophy is all about - it is presented every year to the person or people that best exemplify the spirit of the event. Since its inception the LitP organisers have tried to make the event about a lot of things; the cars, obviously, but also the people. We have tried to make it a social event that brings people together, where you can meet new people but also hang out with old friends. We want people to join in with a whole weekend of fun where we get to see and drive the beautiful Peak District, eat together, drink together and have a great, happy time. We want everyone to feel welcomed and valued. Some people just come along on the Sunday, which is fine, but some people embrace and do all of it, and you and Hypo definitely did that! Everytime I saw either of you you had massive smiles on your face, it was infectious, my only regret is that I didn't get chance to speak to you more! Your car is also fabulous, a unique and brilliantly bonkers thing which I think everyone loved. I hope that explains why you have the trophy 😊 It is very well deserved. Mark Hodgkinson, by the way is the founder of MLOC, and still runs the website in his very modest and unassuming way. He keeps a low profile and never looks for attention, but we, the LitP team, wanted to say thank you to him and thought naming the trophy after him might be a nice way of doing that. Dean
series_one Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Wonderful! Thanks Dean; and Mark! Ownership experience is greatly enhanced by MLOC and the like 😊👍🏻
Rob999 Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 That first photo posted by Pierre sums up the weekend for me. Kudos to @series_one and Hypo 🙌

Phil S1 Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Thanks for sharing your story @series_one and Hypo. Sorry I didn't get to speak with you both on Sunday. You were without doubt truly worthy winners of the Mark Hodgkinson Cup 🏆
