Alex B Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 Have been to look at several cars now. Went to Christoper Neil Lotus main dealer over at crewe (northwich) to look at a couple of cars there. I have ended up putting a holding deposit (test drive dependant) on this http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201231480281277/sort/locasc/usedcars/model/elise/make/lotus/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/radius/60/page/2/quicksearch/true/postcode/de742jl?logcode=p its a 53 elise S (has a little 'e' with a crown on the center pillars) 41000 miles had full C service including cambelt engine has been compression tested as well Disc's and pads 4 new tyres Full main dealer service history
DeanB Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I spotted that the other day and thought it looked lovely. Sensible money too, given the low mileage. If it is in as good condition in the metal (GRP?!) as it looks on the pics, and the SH checks out, it looks like a good deal. I don't know why they call it an Elise "S" though - it is certainly not a 111s with the vvc engine, it has the 120 BHP engine as mine has. It looks to me like a Rover k series s2 sports tourer.
G Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 That does look really tidy and clean and I like the colour too, always wanted a red interior in my 1st Elise. Have you sorted your insurance yet? Some huge savings to be made away from all the main stream insurance companies.
Alex B Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 it has the odd little blemish on it however other than that its spotless. have seen the SH all done at the same dealership who is selling it, the sales man i spoke to said he sold the car when it was brand new to the original owner just trying to sort insurance out. cheapest I have found is admiral however i dont like them. any recomendations for insurers?
chrislane Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 That looks very nice, good price too. There a quite a few threads on here re insurance. Personally i have found CCI to be far and away the cheapest (as long as you dont need commuting on the policy - they sting you if you do :-( )
DeanB Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Try REIS in Nottingham. They have been good to me - and cheap. CCi are worth a try too.
Alex B Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 REIS not heard of them will try. CCI are very good however will only cover for 5k miles a year
scatty Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 When do you pick her up????? Hopefully in time for next Tuesday meet... I found all the lotus friendly insurers tend to he limited mileage, I'm due for renewal next month, so let me know if you find anyone. Dean, are reis usually limited mileage????5k is very low in my book.

DeanB Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Mine is limited to 7k miles, with full business use cover. 330 quid i think. Renewed it about 2 weeks ago. The 7k mileage restriction was my idea - i would expect that to be negotiable though.
Alex B Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 hi dean sorry to be nosey/rude im gonna guess your over 30 for a price like that? also is that with REIS?
Martin R Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Here you go, try these http://www.midlandsl...ct-details-r492 Edit, also the only cars i remember with a little e were Toyota cars?
IAN G Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Try taylor henderson for insurance , good price and track day covered too Car looks nice btw , red interior is the way to go !
un1eash Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Looks good, i would of gone for this car if i wasnt looking for a 111S, i always wanted a Storm Titanium with red interior and red roof if you can get them. I've had a right nightmare trying to find a car, ive now gone full circle and should be picking up a mint 2005 111S that i first bought 5 weeks ago but it turned out to have early signs of HGF. Tried finding another one in between and wasted money and time only to get a phone call beginning of the week saying the 111S is available now its all been fixed by Ollie at Pheonix.
