i quite like the last one...

That does look nice. I'm sure some will say it looks a touch pricey but i believe the limited edition colour schemes will retain their value and make a sound investment in these times of interest rates paying a pittance - at least thats what i keep telling mrs L ;-)

VHPD? = very high probability of detonation or the correct name very high power derivative. They do nothing till about 4K ish revs and then take off like a scalded cat and i love mine :) Oh they are also grumpy in a nice way.

currently driving a civic type R (ep3) so power delivery high up in the rev range is nothing new.

hoping to test drive the blue one on tuesday, and the type 25 if i can get up there in the light and before they close.

The VHPD was only put in a very limited number of cars. The 111s ( Rover ) has a vvc engine it stands for variable valve control. It was approx 145 bhp in the S1 EU2 engine and about 160 bhp in the S2 EU3 engine. The vvc gives a lovely linear power delivery.

K series engines are quite solid and a great drive, add a PRT and AA mechanical breakdown insurance for piece of mind as it will cover up to £500 of repairs and parts failure.

Pressure relief thermostat. To cut a very long story short. The thermostat in an Elise, K series configuration is not in an ideal position. When it opens, it allows a large slug of cold water into the head from the rad at the front.

There is a theory this is a major cause of HGF. IMO its more to do with inconsistent liner stand proud but thats another story. With a PRT you remove the old thermostat and plumb in a PRT. It allows more of a gradual mixing of the water to the head.

Here you go a bit of reading.
