I believe that when people excel praise is in order. I have a little tale to tale...

When I had my S1 MOT'd in late July the MOT'er pointed out I had a leaking shock but he said he would pass me knowing I would sort it. With the spending ticket stamped with the OH I started researching...

Having decided on Nitrons and knowing the Lotus Festival was upcoming I managed to get a weekend pass (double bonus!).

On the Saturday at Brands I found Eliseparts very busy, .. too busy. The guy on the Nitron stall was busy too and when I returned he was nowhere to be seen.

Then I stumbled across Hangar 111. I waited for the 'lady minding the stall' to become free... Oh how pre-conceptions can turn into mis-conceptions! Within seconds I realised that this was a lady who knew her stuff! She talked of her Lotus back in the 'shop and the spare engine destined for her car being used in the race car the next day!

I enquired about the Nitrons I was after and soon a deal was struck that left me feeling like Dick Turpin. She didn't have them at the show but promised that she would have them delivered down overnight for collection on the Sunday.

On the Sunday, I arrived with the few shirt buttons agreed and true to her word, there were two boxes with nice new shiny Nitrons. Without taking off my mask, payment was made and off I marched. I hadn't been arrested!!

Back home and I had my MOT'er fit my nice new shocks. All fine and dandy but I was up against time and said I would sort out the ride height and damper settings at home.

Two weeks later and I hit a problem. I couldn't get the ride height I had hoped for. Having robbed Hangar111 I tried SELOC and MLOC forums, spoke to 'knowledgeable' people and contacted Nitron. I felt that as I had had such a good deal with Hangar111 it was rude to expect them to offer me much support, so I left them 'till last.

At my wits end, I finally gave them a call and spoke to the 'very nice lady' Marie-Anne (I hope I have the spelling right). Soon I was being given advice on what I should be doing by Greg. That was on the Friday and Saturday saw me trying to affect the said advice. Hangar111 were racing at Donington on the Saturday and it was agreed that I would do the necessary and drive the car over if there were any problems. By mid-afternoon I had made changes but didn't feel that things were right so I phoned Greg to say I wouldn't be able to get over. The dynamics changed during that conversation. I soon had a call back.. Greg was sending not one, but THREE of his race engineers over to my house to help me!

Sure enough, within half an hour the door-bell rang, three Lotus engineers stood there. Soon they were looking over my car, offering me instruction and advice. I had overlooked a simple matter (actually, I had been mis-advised) but after they left, on the Sunday morning, I put the advice into practice and soon had my problem with ride height sorted.

I can not praise the level of service highly enough. Absolutely OUTSTANDING and I hope that this post serves something of a thank-you for the friendly and helpful service that they have provided.

Hangar111 - saying 'Thank-you' is almost and afront to your generosity. I whole-heartedly appreciate what you have done to help me. I truly appreciate your help.

Great story. Long may it continue. Isn't it a great feeling doing business with people that it's great doing business with? I've only had good experiences there too, but nothing on this scale. Full marks.

I've had one dealing with hanger and again they were fantastic. I drive all the way there to get my cam lowered. It felt like going into someone's home not a business. As some of you know it's not easy explaining anything technical to me, but Greg had that knack of doing it and not make me look the complete tool that I usually am.

Exceptional company.

Out of interest, what did you need to do to correct the problem?

It took some fuel, the missus and 3 bags of gravel.

Somewhere I had been told I didn't need to be sitting in the car to adjust the height. I guess that adjusting the collars from the drivers seat is somewhat of a stretch, but I have learnt you do need to sit something in the car to load the suspension. Lotus apparently recommend half tank of fuel and 2 x 75 kg. (mind you, I'm not 75kg, haven't been for some years now!)

However, listening to the advice of the Hangar111 guys, I could have loaded the car as though it was just me sitting in it and then set the ride height. One step away from corner weighting.

I'm just pleased to have had the benefit of the advice to put me straight :)

I have only good things to say about these guys too. When I was looking to buy an exhaust I did loads of research and liked the look and philosophy of their product the best. They couldn't be more helpful on the phone, and when I ordered one it did exactly what it said on the tin. I was well chuffed with it and still am.

And when I rang them on the scrounge for a raffle prize for MLOC@Chatsworth they said yes immediately, and weighed in with a £50 voucher.

A real pleasure to deal with.
