  1. That's what owning a Lotus does for you! Welcome and enjoy. And in case you think it's a one-off, I met a chap in Lotus, California who let me drive his newly-turboed Elise round the twisties of the Sierra Nevada. Wherever you are, you can be among friends.
  2. Owning a Lotus is going to be a little different from a Honda! The usual effect on people is to give them a smile that stretches off either side of their face. Welcome to the club. You are going to love it!
  3. I always let the Corsa drivers in front of me. Very politely. Really pisses them off. If I need to be past them subsequently, it's never too hard to achieve. To be honest, I get more riled at the stereotypical BMW/Audi drivers who just act like they own the road. And it never matters what I'm driving for that to hurt. Shame it brought those feelings, though. I do find the Esprit's 'eclectic' braking system to be quite frustrating, but I forgive the car its foibles every time I get behind the wheel.
  4. Yea, but you loved it, though. Right? Still loving my Esprit, and that has fewer of the benefits of other cars such as actually working most of the time!
  5. Welcome back! I've only driven a V6 once, but I thought it was the best car I've ever driven. Enjoy!
  6. There's isn't a database in the world can deal with a list that long!
  7. The first MLOCcer to emigrate to Scotland before Brexit? Envious…
  8. "Marshall" is certainly an aerospace name round Cambridge as well as for cars. The Cambridge Airport isn't known locally as Cambridge Airport, or even as "the airport", but as "Marshall's". And when I owned a Nissan 350Z, I bought it from the Marshall's dealership and had it serviced there always. Marshall's is a big name too have round here. They still own a big string of car dealerships as well as the airport and a huge aircraft and military manufacturing and maintenance business. Great link to a great story, and which, knowing the Marshall's name quite well, doesn't really come as a great surprise to me.
  9. ...and it's good that I have people I can rely on so.
  10. Actually, Leigh, I'm really grateful to you. It's people like you who help me keep on the straight and narrow. You give us a clear vision of the murky quagmire that lies at the bottom of the slippery slope. I'm still envious as hell.
  11. Leigh, whilst I am terribly envious, you are clearly nuts! I'll be sorry to see the 340R go, though. You've had that as long as I've been around here, though it too has got more and more insane. I do hope everything goes better than I expect with your Stratos. That could easily be more of a money pit than a V8 Esprit project! Good luck!
  12. …outside Madingley Hall.
