  1. I always let the Corsa drivers in front of me. Very politely. Really pisses them off. If I need to be past them subsequently, it's never too hard to achieve. To be honest, I get more riled at the stereotypical BMW/Audi drivers who just act like they own the road. And it never matters what I'm driving for that to hurt. Shame it brought those feelings, though. I do find the Esprit's 'eclectic' braking system to be quite frustrating, but I forgive the car its foibles every time I get behind the wheel.
  2. Yea, but you loved it, though. Right? Still loving my Esprit, and that has fewer of the benefits of other cars such as actually working most of the time!
  3. Welcome back! I've only driven a V6 once, but I thought it was the best car I've ever driven. Enjoy!
  4. There's isn't a database in the world can deal with a list that long!
  5. The first MLOCcer to emigrate to Scotland before Brexit? Envious…
  6. "Marshall" is certainly an aerospace name round Cambridge as well as for cars. The Cambridge Airport isn't known locally as Cambridge Airport, or even as "the airport", but as "Marshall's". And when I owned a Nissan 350Z, I bought it from the Marshall's dealership and had it serviced there always. Marshall's is a big name too have round here. They still own a big string of car dealerships as well as the airport and a huge aircraft and military manufacturing and maintenance business. Great link to a great story, and which, knowing the Marshall's name quite well, doesn't really come as a great surprise to me.
  7. Or try CarLimits.com. People call them "Walshy Days" – have a poke round on here for plenty of stories about them. I've done a couple, and I can't recommend them highly enough. If you poke around on here, you'll also see a worrying number of new owners who bin it within the first week or two. The engine overtakes you suddenly and you end up reversing into the accident. Now I've done a Walshy Day, I've never been near that particular edge again. But do take the advice about being gentle in the wet, because when it goes, it goes. Tracking a probably another way to get the same experience, but Andy will teach you all about what's going on and how to manage it. Enjoy – it does look like a lovely car!
  8. Wow! Just WOW!
  9. Welcome to MLOC! And even better, welcome to the wonderful world of Lotus Ownership!
  10. I know I've a soft spot for those, but really is drool-worthy. Have a great time with it! I bet that will turn heads.
  11. Perhaps gravy, from a train somewhere?
  12. I agree. Wholeheartedly and absolutely. On several levels. But… I can't help noticing that the Vauxhall Astra comes 18th, two ahead of the Lamborghini Aventador. So I have to be a bit sceptical, I'm afraid, and that's not because I'm a huge fan of the Aventador, either.
  13. ...and it's good that I have people I can rely on so.
  14. Actually, Leigh, I'm really grateful to you. It's people like you who help me keep on the straight and narrow. You give us a clear vision of the murky quagmire that lies at the bottom of the slippery slope. I'm still envious as hell.
