jonnyfox Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Not a great deal achieved this week, sills prepared for painting along with the wheels some time next month. I'll leave the rest of the bodywork until later.
KurtB Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Jonny, great progress as usual! What did you stick your roof on with? I'm thinking I need to insert some felt between the roof and roll bar to stop the creaking, I just wondered about your solution...
jonnyfox Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Priceless Jody. Kurt it has never been off during my ownership. The bolts are just spinning....
jonnyfox Posted August 9, 2015 Author Posted August 9, 2015 The AC weighs....... Just the sill pipes missing and fluid. 5kg heavier then on an S2 I think. Next job is to see if I can get the heater working without it....
jonnyfox Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Roof off! And it was stupid easy. For reference, it is not the same as an S2. Unattach the back, lift/tilt and pull away from the windscreen.

Next job is to see if I can get the heater working without it.... I called a dealer about swapping mine Jonny... according to them mines worth ALLOT less being a S260 without aircon as all the people who want the 260 cars will run them on track and thus demand aircon to stay cool Cant wait to see it done. Hada re-read of Commit last week
jonnyfox Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 S2 AC is excellent, you don't hear the same said for the S1. I'm not actually sure the S2 AC works above a certain rev range, I think it may turn itself off..... But I'd definitely be leaving it in if I bought another S2.

Yeah I never turned it on in the cars I tested prior to buying this one so its a little case of don't know what you've never had. In the year owning it so far though its never bothered me to the point of swapping my car for it.... In other news... Finally in a position to buy your Volks Wish there was more sets around . Looks like finding a set of 240r wheels instead.
jonnyfox Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Nice! Really looking forward to getting new alloys for the S1 Kieran. Won't go wrong with 240Rs mate, very cool.
cjwjames Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Bloody he'll how expensive are the 240r alloys I would love a set but not at that price
