Just a quick message to introduce myself. Just bought myself a Lotus Elise about a year ago and I have to say that its the best 10k I have ever spent. I'm pretty new to these forum thingys but I find them very informative. I actually live in the North West but found out about this site in May from a nice guy who had a S2 Elise in red. I do get to the Midlands a lot going to Donington Park if there is a race on. I have done 14 track days so far this year so Oulton sould be good. Need to get the car fixed before I go. I need a new wheel bearing and the track rods need doing. I need some advice on getting some tyres . I normally buy Champinos or Nankans because they …

As usual, best laid plans etc.... went intending to buy cheap one, ended up buying not so cheap one Cheap ones did not fit well, so was about to buy a Sparco one, then found an OMP one that had a small flake of paint missing (assured not dropped), tried on, fitted very well and negotiated on price - got it reduced from £305 to £220... Also got free bag and spare smoked visor too... major bonus its SA2000 approved

Can I have a peek at your sound system when your at Nick Whale tomorrow, mine needs replacing cos it's crap and you seem to be very vocal in praise of yours. Then again following your advice might not be such a good idea after what happened the last time

Thinking about getting a removable steering wheel for a little extra piece of mind. Just wondered if any of you had already gone this route and if so what are the best options for cost etc??? I don't really want to change the wheel as I am quite happy with the original. So could anyone tell me if this is possible or if not what the best replacement would be. Your advice would be much appreciated.

It's official, I have front tyres shaped like 50pence pieces. Have been told it's unlikely that I can scrub them back round again and would have to purchase new ones. BUGGER

Left my car parked at the weekend and someone has hit the wheel arch at the back and taken a chunk out of the fibre-glass. Does anybody know a good place in the Derby area where I can take it for repair and roughly how much I should expect to pay. Thanks Richard

Anyone heard anything about this ? Europe wants a driving test every ten years. Motorists could be forced to take a driving test every ten years under plans being drawn up by the European Parliament. Drivers will not have their licence renewed until the test has been passed. The scheme was reported on BBC Radio 4's Europe Now programme. The scheme is an effort to reduce the 45,000 deaths on Europe's roads every year while tackling the growing problem of road rage and bad driving. Some ministers are opposed to the "expensive and bureaucratic" scheme. The AA are also against it saying young drivers are the real problem for the high number of car deaths in Europe …
