Saw a crash right in front of me this morning, very scary. Two offset T junctions (crossroads) with both junctions wanting to pull onto the main road into Norwich. It has warning signs as is a known danger area. It was foggy, a car pulled out, I was waiting opposite, a van came along and T boned her, then slewed past my front by a foot or so and stopped. I did manage to reverse a bit quickly, but it certainly put the frighteners up me and I drove the rest of the way on high alert. Felt sorry for both involved parties, no one was hurt, but I can really sympathise with those on here who have had this misfortune.

Well...the absolute bargain of a 111s I bought is starting to not look like a bargain as the money I saved is quickly being swallowed by that addiction we call upgrades. Now at the moment I would love LSS/S2 susp...but if I get this I will have to get victories and new tyres as well - so 'on hold' Engine wise..my exhaust is on and is boomtastic. If i can get a second hand hurricane then great but im not really fussed for now as the novelty of the car alone is still there. The quickshifter and linkage will be next as it a must have and relatively cheap. One thing that is totally poor with my car is the interior. No leather or mats and a tart stereo. My…

I Just wandered past a market stall in Rugby selling some large S2 Elise remote control cars, i think they were 1:7 but they could have been 1:17, but they were at least 60 cm long. The manufacturer is a company called Xin Qiang, has anyone heard of these or even had one of their cars? They were only £50 so i was unsure if they would be any good. Does anyone know anything about RC cars and what sort of thing i should be looking out for? These ran on a 9V battery, but i am unsure if it was you run-of-the-mill square ones or a built in rechargable one. If anyone wants me to get them one, there was red, silver and blue, i don't mind picking one up for you and…

..ruin the experience? New EVO Maggy out, end of term test of the VX220 Turbo. At the end of the article, it says that to really see how special it is, and truely appriciate it, you need to own it as a second car. I can gel with that. You kinda grow numb to how good it is. I forget how good mine is until I drive my dads Rover600 - other end of the spectrum, and all that Also, another amusing thing - Chee has an S2000, and other S2000 owners are calling him "soft" and "limp wristed" for leaving the hardtop on....I don't know, these "hardcore" S2000 drivers, eh Oh, before I go. Page 103, bottom picture. One of the most gorgeous shapes I've ever seen. If on…

Just wondering if it's worth approaching that place in Brierley Hill again to see if we can organise a dyno session for a Saturday morning. If I remember correctly it was about £20 a car. Any takers?

I know its winter but all us S1 owners know we haven't any sun visors. The glare of the sun does my nut especially in the morning so i always have a pair of shades handy (well thats my excuse for looking cool all the time ) Anyway I've been through about 14 pairs of glasses whilst putting them in the net behind and reversing my seat into them (crush). Even the hard cases don't stand up to my moving of the driver seat to get out more quickly and comortable. Question is...is there a gadget/product out there where to keep them. My case has a hook on the back. Thinking of attaching some kind of hook near the interior light to fix it onto... and yes im…

Just getting the car right for the winter so I haven't got to be fiddling with anything in the freezing cold. Started with Osram Silverlight bulbs and the S2 wiper to give me some form of night/rain vision. Ok. whats next - ah floor corrosion - didn't check it when i bought the car and have still not I know - lets call the friendly dealer and ask them about sorting it out. Me: Hello Storm Leicester. Her: Can I talk to someone about my S1 Lotus please - Service Dept. Him: Hi how can I help Me: Hi i'm after some mats or carpets for my S1 but before I go any further can you tell me what the situation with the floor corrosion is ? Him: Sorry, wh…

The link is not the most up to date, but gives an idea of the mentality of your average US car nut: Linky Not sure this will go anywhere, but these were not untypical of the sort of conversation I could have in Texas, the Californians seemed more interested in MPG and "Green-ness" (well gas was $2.25 for regular[87 octane] against $1.70 in Texas, that is per US Gallon, about 3.8 litres). Read and smile Peter

Would you belive it! Driving trough Derby today trying to find a McDs. Nice and steady, some dude makes a right turn right in front of me!!! Slamed on the breaks pretty quick and managed to shave most of the speed before the impact. Bosh, my car bounces off the front corner of his lardy Astra Estate. fortunatly no major damage, broked headlight cover and a small chip in the gel coat. Shouldn't be to much of a pain to get fixed (£300 ish) (to be fair the nose needed painting due to stone chips and i want some tinted laight covers anyway!!) Still a pain in the ass. The lad who hit me is an apprentice priest type thing so hopfully he'll follow gods ways a…

Sure many of you can relate to this! Surely the Elise is the worst car to have when you've got a hangover! The times I've driven (not drunk obviously) with a bad hangover and had to stop cos the ride has made me feel ill And the noise as well! ouch! Think the worst was today, after a show at Rockingham and a few drinks after. Got up at 9 this morning, straight back to bed. Had to get up at 12 as I was staying in a hotel and it was chucking out time. Got outside, still in no fit state to drive! Ended up sleeping in the Elise untill I felt well enough to drive What a nightmare! any of you lot tried sleeping in an Elise? There's absolutly no way yo…
