Just wanted to say what a fantastic and well-organised event from start to finish today has been. As today was not only our first Lotus in the Peak, but also our first time taking part in an organised run, we can definitely say we'd do this again and possibly even support some other regions with similar events in the future. If I had to think about anything to improve on today, I would have to say I honestly could not think of a single thing. So it just remains to thank everyone, no matter how big or small their involvement, for what was a perfectly executed event. Also, the picnic boxes were first class and the breakfast did an amazing job considering the number of people that took part in this year's event. Thanks also to our group leader, Dean. Thank you to everyone. Mark & Jane You are very welcome Mark & Jane. I'm grateful you came along, and gladdened that you enjoyed it so much. Dean
JimF Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Just wanted to add what a superb event this was. Appreciate something like this doesn’t happen without an awful lot of hard work - so a massive thank you to all those involved - you smashed it! see you on a run soon. Jim
JBooth Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Thanks very much to all involved in organising the event. It was great and what a fabulous day for it! Thanks!
Barnsley Phil Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Like to add my bit by saying thanks to all involved in making the weekends event such a good one and thanks for all the hard work you must have put in. Met some new (hopefully) friends and put a few faces to names. Phil, Deb and Toby the dog (who slept all the way home)
MikefromWetherby Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Thank you to all involved in organising this fantastic event. This was the first LitP Shirley and I have attended and we were very impressed! We will long remember being out on our run and the sight of meeting other runs coming the other way and all the waving! Great fun.
Jimmy Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 What a great experience Sunday was! It was great to catch up with friends & fellow petrolheads, and participate in the biggest Lotus ‘gathering’ since the 70th anniversary event at Hethel. The Peaks look even more spectacular in blazing sunshine & the trip over from N. Ireland for the weekend was definitely well worth the effort. Big thanks to Ray & all the MLOC team who organised the event. You did a fantastic job Guys!
Bongo Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Just been looking through my photos from yesterday, I think I managed to get a shot of F1NAL that better explains it's colour for anyone that managed to miss it.
NigelStn Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Many thanks to everyone involved in making this event a huge success, which was my first Lotus event. I thoroughly enjoyed the spirited drive in Group 1 from Ashbourne, which put my elderly Elan through it's paces!
Badger02 Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 What a great weekend. Where do I start. Well 1st of all to thank the many organisers for the months of hard work to put on such an event. A big thumbs up to the stewards, the traders, the people who contributed raffle and auction prizes, to Hassop (despite the queue), to the company who supply the picnic lunch (yum) and all the other people and companies I may have forgotten to mention.. Highlights for me: meeting new faces, and the familiar faces (though this was only my 2nd LITP). the pootle on Saturday, being right behind Duncan on the Ashbourne run and not embarrassing myself, nor breaking down (sorry Ray), to my cousin in law Rob for not damaging the S2, the general good vibe and welcoming nature of the whole weekend. Badger jnr was shattered when we got home around 4pm (I wasn't far behind due to the heat), and he had to be dragged out of the house for his evening walk. Both of us are looking forward to the next LITP and hopefully a fair few meet ups and drive outs between now and then. Cheers, Badger Snr and Badger Jnr
PJT Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Great Weekend at Oakhill. Great place to stay, made even better by the swarm of Lotus
SamG40 Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Yep, again nothing to add other than what a great day. Lots of people on the runs seemed to be first timers so to get that many people and cars to multiple destinations without issue is amazing, that's no accident. We heard comments on the day from people about how well organised it was and it showed. What a great event to be a part of. Thanks to all involved.
andrewelan Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 I'm late to the thank you party, but that's no reason not to add to the heaps of praise being showered upon all organisers, marshalls and anyone else behind this great event. Thank you Big shout to Dean leading Matlock group one, who got badly split within 3 miles of start due to a b8stard cement truck who pulled out in front of us. Golden Rule kept us sorted and all arrived intact and together
