smithpaulg
Hi Russ, Sorry to read your news, hope you have recovered from the ordeal. I am sure the car will all be sorted, although, wont you need to refurb the other wishbones to match the new one ? Paul

russelld
My car arrived at Gav's this morning, I went straight after work to take a close look at the damage. The front has 2 x bent wishbones and a broken disc caused by the bottom ball joint being pushed into it. The good news is there is no damage to the tub. The back end has a broken toe link rod end, some damage to the sub frame and damage to the clam. So all repairable but not sure what will happen with the insurance assessment, hopefully I should know by next week.
@ndy
Good news overall Russ..... Whatever happens regarding the insurance I would keep hold of the car.
Dr H
Could have been a lot worse! As Andy says, the car is too rare to let it be written off - if they do, buy it back and fix it. Hopefully they won't though.
russelld
My fingers are crossed that they will agree to repair, if they don't I will be looking into buying it back.
Martin R
Looks ok besides the small tear in the subframe? Not the end of the world. If you are claiming on the insurance it needs a new one? If you buy it back get a second hand one
@ndy
My fingers are crossed that they will agree to repair, if they don't I will be looking into buying it back. If they write it off you I was told by Aviva (underwritters of CCI) I could get market/agreed value less 25% and the car if a CAT D or less 35% and car if a CAT C, definitely worth buying it back
Martin R
I cant see how its not worth buying back? Even at 35% the bits on the car are worth more than that? Fixing it will not be that expensive either?
Meister
Russ All things considered that's not too bad. Let us know what the insurer's say. Mark
Guest
Russ, i once had a situation where the insurance co wanted to write the 205 off after someone reversed in to it, i accepted money in lieu of repairs and the car wasn't put on the register. Glad to see it's all repearable!
AlanS1
Russ, if the insurance state that it needs a new rear sub frame i think Geary is now making them at a better price and also better made. Worth bearing in mind.
