M@r]{ Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 How much!?! Even their website imply's a lot less than that! For S1 sizes that should be between £160-£190? http://www.wheelclinic.co.uk/prices.php But as I said I think by rocking up with the wheels for them to inspect, offering cash there and then helps the deal Calling up you'll get full price, inc VAT (ie no cash deal) And remember the prices on the website will be assuming a certain amount of kerb repair. Mine had none. So no doubt they looked at mine and thought that's a simple "rub down job and powder coat" At the time I told them I just wanted their best price as I was in two minds whether to get them done at all as they're just track wheels, but if its cheap enough I'll leave them with them now.
pablo_paul Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Called the litchfield place today the quoted between £250-300 which was drive in drive out. I spoke to Paul and we were talking about Elise's as discussed before he used to own one so knows the cars. I'm sure I can get the price less if i turn up with just the rims but i would still have to get the tyres off and remounted and have the fun of having to jack the car up on four corners. At the end of teh day you pay more to have less hassle I understand that. I will give another company a call tomorrow and see what they can do.
Steve J Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Mine are off the car already, but do have tyres on. Going all the way to Lichfield will cost more in travel so I guess I'll stick with the Wheelspecialist. Would have been nice to get cheaper, but the last time I tried that they sat on them and did nothing and I was nervous whether they'd be still there when I revisited.
Martin R Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Paul, at Lichfield 1st Class Alloys took the tyres off mine. Put the new ones on balanced even with Black wheel weights to make them less noticable. All for the price i quoted. I cant look again due to the crap internet connection in Zolder. I did leave them with him though.
Steve J Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Wheels picked up yesterday. Nice and shiny black. Pics to follow. I now have a Refer a Friend leaflet entitling the bearer to 15% off their refurb costs, if anyone is going to the Nottingham branch to get theirs done.
Dr H Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I called the Wheel Specialist in Burton about re-doing my OZs. Fronts £60 each Rears £65 each Tyre removal and refitting £10 each plus VAT £348 all in! So I've adopted a different approach: Take to local garage to remove tyres £40 Take to Dumelows in Burton to get wheels re-furbed £160 Take back to local garage for tyre fitting - included in the price above Total £200
