Darren888
Hi All, New to the Lotus scene and just purchased a purple S2 elise, yes a purple aubergine elise that many on forums seem to hate! But each to their own and i love the colour. I have a few rather boring questions i'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction? 1) Interior Trim - Just noticed part of the interior trim has a tear, is there a store that is generally not over priced that people use for parts? (its the panel that houses the speaker and light switches on the driver side) 2) Window Trim - The black exterior window seal appears to have had its day and has formed a bubbling effect, where best to purchase such a replacement item?...any pointers? 3) Tyres - Currently sitting on AD07 all round and i'm having to replace both sets of rears, a tad confused many here swear by AD08 but i won't be running it on a track nor do i want to be caught out in the rain. Its not my daily car but nor do I want to be rushing home as soon a dark cloud appears, I also don't wish to be replacing tyres every year and some say it doesn't wear well. Is AD07 a discontinued item and replaced by AD08's? Would I be mad to consider putting on Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres on the rear? Thanks.
Simon Mac
For parts, the obvious ones are: DeRoure https://www.deroure.com Elise Parts https://www.eliseparts.com Seriously Lotus https://www.seriouslylotus.com/ DeRoure shipping more OEM stuff. You _might_ even be able to get some carbon 3rd party parts cheaper than the OEM plastic. Otherwise trawl eBay for bits on cars being broken for spares. As for AD08's are you confusing them for AO48's ? (The 48's are the semi-slicks fitted to the Exige, the 08's more of an all rounder). The 48's are definitely a handful in the wet (says speaking from experience of dailying an Exige), but I'm still here to tell the tale! In terms of replacement every year, it depends how far and how aggressively you drive My last Elise had Toyo T1-R's on and I did 10k miles, inc. one track day, and they were still plenty serviceable. The S2 Exige I think I was around 6k miles for the rears just on road use. The S3 Exige I squeaked 8k miles out of the last set of rears (lot's of touring miles)
russelld
Elise parts have some stock of AD07s If you have AD07 on the front and they are ok best bet would be new AD07s on the rear otherwise there are a lot of options if changing all 4. https://www.eliseparts.com/products/show/78/1954/yokohama-ad07-tyres/ Oh and welcome

DanP
AD08 is the newer replacement for AD07, but they don't do a lotus specific version. Even so, a lot of people run AD08s on the rear, as they are easier to come by. AD08s don't come in the right size for the front. Last time I bought from france, but that was pre brexit and the pound was a lot higher. Still a good price if you only want to buy a single tyre or a pair. All LTS. http://www.toyoracing.fr/fr/85-advan-neova-ad07.html#/ russelld's link for AD07s seem to have a very good discount for buying a full set, but pricy for just a pair. Dan Edit - make sure of the manufacture date of the discounted tyres. The ones I bought from france were only a year old or so.
