Elise s1 111s audio upgrade

The CD player on the original factory headunit isn't working so I would like to upgrade, therefore what would you recommend?

I am not looking for apple car-play, MP3, etc. Looking for CD player, FM radio ideally just a plug and play swap.

The original owner of my Elise recommended Alpine as the best brand, but I am leaning towards a Blaupunkt since they had a good reputation (not sure if that is still applicable) and I like the look, not too blingy.

Appreciate that the sound quality isn't going to be significantly improved unless there was other upgrades, speakers, amp, etc.

Thoughts / recommendations.

Hi. I have a Blaupunkt Doha with CD player in my S1. Very happy with it

I assume a straight swop, also did you change anything else?

Mine fitted in my s1 elise

One thing I should have pointed out is that it's not very good at charging phones. It just slows down the battery discharge.

I got this one: Pioneer SPH-10BT
737373c?w=740&h=555&qlt=default&fmt=auto&v=1
I liked the integrated phone holder, which can hold a phone in landscape or portrait. Great for using as a satnav when touring. As I haven't found a good way to mount a phone to the dash with traditional mounts.

Only down side is you need to use stereo spacers to bring the fascia further out, so it doesn't clash with the lower part of the dash topper (when the phone is in the mount).
