what do you reckon that will cost to repair then?

is suspension damage terminal, i really dont understand the implications of what a reasonable to repair or a no no?

Suspension damage as such isn't a problem, but it's damage to the suspension mounts in the chassis at the front that is. If the wishbone has been pulled out of the chassis then as yet nobody has come up with a viable repair. You can't weld the aluminium because it's too close to the bonded joints. Some kind of bonded repair ought to be feasible I guess but generally you're looking at a new chassis and that's what writes the car off. Financially viable to do yourself but the labour costs at a garage would be too prohibitive. Damage at the rear is less of a problem because the suspension mounts onto the steel sub-frame.

Was wondering where he had got to. Remember it not being the best advice given when he told someone on their first trackday to go out there and make someone your target!

 

Still a lovely looking car, like the number plate too, sure the same plate or very similar was on another mlocer's Exige in the past.

so when it says "damage to n/s front engine mounts" basicly its fubar'd.

 

same as it ticks all the boxes i would like for my next exige and i have a good freind who runs a reputable and knowledgale repair shop, but new chassi and front clam plus radiator etc. i guess would run to ££££££

Pretty tough to repair, there have been ones repaired though. Try someone like essex autosport, they have good knowledge of fixing lots of bent elises.

Waste of time unless dirt cheap IMO. Even if repaired properly it will still be a cat car on the insurance data base. Therefore worth a LOT less than a similar none cat car.

I agree. Make a great buy for someone looking to race it though if economically repairable..
