R.I.B.
Just had my renewal quote for my 3rd year with CCi and they've gone from £550 to £844 for being a loyal customer. they're obviously trying it on but there is no way I'm paying just shy of a grand when I've been driving for over ten years and never ever claimed or crashed. 300 quid more for a car worth less than last year and a more experienced driver. they are dreaming!!!!!!! My first year with them was just under 500!!!! really pee'd off with just the cheek of them!!! rant over, arrrgggghhh!!!

Martin R
Just ring around the normal specialist insurance companies. That will always give you a competative quote. If you do trackdays make sure you are covered. Heritage did the same to me this year so i voted with my feet. R.I.B.
yeap, i will be ringing around. I could understand the 300 quid increase if I had crashed my car into a primary school and killed a class of children after drinking a bottle of jack daniels, but not for yet another claim free year. Sort of put a downer on my night!

I got the same issue but I phoned them told them that they are over priced by other quotes i got from webs sites and they match the lower one by a couple of pounds . Direct line gave me a good quote 2 months free at the moment fill in the details on there web page 🚗 Eddie
Jonathan E
I'd give them a ring after trying a few of the usual suspects for comparison, they are usually very good and that does seem excessive.
grez
CCI quoted me ~£700 (almost exactly the same as last year) until I called and asked if they had managed to lose the discounts for car club membership & performance driver training as they had done last year, they had so this then dropped the quote to ~£600 as it had done last year. So no increase at all.
scatty
i think i would definately be asking for my policy to be cancelled. then see what they knock off...£844 seems a ridiculous amount compared to the previous year. id imagine your bog standard insurers would come in cheaper than that..... I spoke with Aplan and they said they won't insure elises unless it is factory standard and at huge premium. They explained that the statistic shows an increase off accident with these cars. R.I.B.
that's just insurance bull****, I don't know for individual cars but a 2 second google search shows accidents are down last year from previous years as well as claims for whiplash. Even if this was true there's no way they should be punishing the careful drivers. when I find a good quote, I'll phone to cancel my insurance and if they match it that's even more reason they don't deserve my money! snokes
anyone else had the same with cci? was about to go and buy a 160 this afternoon, but now postponing it if my quote of 460 from 3 or 4 months back might have gone up a lot. everywhere else i;ve looked seems a bit of a joke (frux best at 730, mirroring max ncb). cheers Stu
R.I.B.
just phoned REIS and got a quote for £590 and adrian flux for £550. as long as you're a new customer, not an existing customer you shouldn't get shafted. Going to phone everyone I can!
richbk
insurance is such a mine field.. your new quotes sound better, however i would give cci the oppurtunity to amend there offer, as it may have been auto generated without taking club membership etc into account. i have been with them for 6 years and have always found them very competative, and also very importantly good on the service side, calling when they say they will, following up enquiries, emailing documents / trckday cover etc. across the board, be it insurance, mortages, broadband, etc etc it seems loyal customers get less offers than new custonmers, in the hope that you'll just stay with someone because its easy. its poor that companies think they can do this, but not at all uncommon, but in most cases with an honest, frank conversation they can amend the offers let us know what they said / offered richbk

Bill, i was insured for unlimited trackdays. Maybe that explains my silly quote, they no longer want to insure against trackday risks.

My car isn't heavily modified but has the usual standard exhaust/filter upgrades plus S2 seats and Compomotive Mo's, I even included my suspension upgrade for this year as I'm of the opinion that if anything did go wrong these are the things that insurance companies try to wriggle out of paying for. CCI don't quibble with upgrades, they include track days as standard and will give you a guaranteed total loss figure(although this costs a little more) if your happy to pay for it. I had to make a claim with a previous Elise with one of the other companies mentioned above and it wasn't a very happy experience, this is something else that needs to be factored for when paying out your wedge each year.
