ssjp Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Received my renewal quote today its now 641.77 from 373.00 and you dont even get uninsured loss recovery. I am on a limited mile policy as well, as i have another two cars to use. I can safely say i will not be renewing and will have to think carefully as to if i should keep the car now. I always used to find it amusing when i could get the Elise insured for around the 350 mark when its group 17 and i could not get my group 3 vauxhall corsa for less than 420 no matter how hard i tried. I dont understand how its all worked out.

ssjp Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Just been on Confused the meerkat.com for a general base figure to start with, and admiral are the cheapest at 601.00 with 100 excess but if you set the excess to that of cci at 300 it comes down to 499 with the top 7 companies all cheaper than cci. So thats a start.
Daniel Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I've just beenon the phone to CCI (Neil). My renewal went up from 430 to 609. A quick call sorted it all out. Basically over the years they've been insuring more vehicles for commuting and unlimited miles etc which really wasn't meant to be their business model. So they're trying to get back to where they started (2 seater 2nd cars basically) Aviva have been nailing them and put up costs if you had commuting listed or unlimited miles. Before this, commuting was included for free (kinda). So I removed commuting (Didn't even realise i had it because it was "free") and that brought it back down to £3 more than last year. Very Happy I'd rather stick with insurers I know than having to hop around every year.
Gary ZBJ Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Thats bad to know I use mine as a daily driver, high mileage and commuting, so it looks like I will have all the hassle of changing insurers come renewal, shame as I have been with CCI for 4 years now and always liked their service.
jimbo07g41 Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Mine just came through the letterbox, £40 more expensive then last year.
darryl Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 It will be interesting to see what the Cup is this year after your little bomb shell!! The Cup is funnily enough also up for its and our third year with cci CCI quote dropped through letterbox end of last week £772.03 big increase; went on Henderson Taylor website completed web form less than an hour later HT quote £578.87 also with 6 track days and that was without informing HT of what they had to beat.
Steve J Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Definitely call them to discuss the renewal. I don't use mine for commuting, no claims (ever) and dropping mileage to 3k pa saw the premium drop from £600 renewal to £374. Means I can afford new tyres now.
longbelly Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Hopefully this commuting thing will all be sorted out by August when mine is due. I'm with HT so Aviva underwriting...
