kieranexige
Long nose pliers with a little tape on the end as not to damage the piston worked for me. Pushing and turning anti clockwise if I remember..
un1eash
Long nose pliers with a little tape on the end as not to damage the piston worked for me. Pushing and turning anti clockwise if I remember.. I've always used long nose pliers also.

Numbnutz
I used long nose pliers and found out my grinder swap tool fit the elise - until I had a few awkward ones, and bought a decent universal kit. I got the kits a few years back (Red case in case the link changes - it cost double and a bit more than this link) - These are so so so much easier that long nose pliers, bargain here too .... plus you can use them on almost every other car you will have in the next few years - left and right handed too. These made winding the Astra piston in from near long nose pliers throwing impossible one December night, to jeez how easy was that, once I remember where I had put the case. But then again I do hoard useful tools. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/311385121290?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=c&rlsatarget=&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=
Dennis
I found out last week end the Focus ST rear pistons have the same holes/tooth separation as the lotus so good job I bought the Elise adapter, saved me loads of swearing with the long nose pliers
