Hi Chris. I paid I think  £250 for an FJ glass windscreen for my S1 from Turbo Windscreens in West Bromwich. Then I paid for fitting at my house. With no clam on it took 15-20 minutes. I picked up the glass btw. The fitter said he'd had issues with Pilkingtons on S1's recently.

Not bad as other quotes I got were £475+vat odd plus fitting.

Thanks Jonny

Having done a bit of ringing around i think i am going to take it to Central Lotus. They will source the new screen and deal with the fitting (which they sub out), and they are only 5 mins around the corner so dead handy. I do feel a bit guilty though as i cant shake the feeling that this is why everyone's insurance premiums go up so much every year - the insurer didn't break stride when i phoned up with the £1,100 quote 😳

Yep, OEM screen is £750 + VAT, then fitting.

I had a heated one fitted.  Cost £250 plus fitting (Junks on SELOC sourced them, don't know if there's any left).

Shit the bed. I've just had 2 heated screens fitted to S1's for 250 quid a piece plus fitting. 1100 quid is daylight robbery.

That's main dealers for you 'in'it.

I totally agree. The problem is, when the excess is the same wherever you go, it's easy just to go for the most convenient option. But it doesn't help insurance premiums in the wider context.
