In the next few days I'll be ordering dampers, bushes, ball joints, bearings, hardware, and all that stuff. Pics to follow. KurtB Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 I've moved this forward a little now. All the suspension parts have been coated with Zinc chromate and clear coated. I'm still keen to POR 15 clearcoat the wishbones, and black for the rear uprights. The hubs can stay as they are I think. The anti roll bar will be going to the powder coaters, and I've lots of new parts to add as the rebuild starts. Dave at Seriously Lotus sent me a full refresh package but it'll be mid August until the NSS assemblies arrive. I've still to buy new CV boots, anti roll bar nylon blocks and a few other sundries (scrivets, mud flaps etc) and get busy with the brushes. Any advice on coating zinc with POR15? Cheers, Kurt

jonnyfox Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Kurt, don't powder coat the ARB, it will chip use POR 15 black, two coats and prime with the POR zinc pasavate (however you spell that). It goes on very easily indeed, second coat is easier than the first but check for drips up to 15 minutes after while it dries. Same with the wishbones, did you use that place in Brum? Hang them to dry bush side down (unlike my pictures, I did though). Again first coat is easy, second coat even easier. Check for drips. I did the job over an evening, wasn't looking forward to it but was so very easy in the end. Apply the second coat just as its dried, takes about 2-3 hours in between. Trust me, jobs a carrot.
