As some of you may or may not know I am going to be doing this conversion on my car this winter. I will be carrying out most of the conversion by myself, making up the engine mounts and exhaust system and plumbing in the cooling system, the wiring up will be done by a third party. Today I have been to talk to JBS Autodesigns about the wiring, they do this sort of thing day in day out, interestingly they have told me that they can do it and make it work off the std VW ecu! this should save a few hundred £'s. I also have a contact for someone who can make me a pair of driveshafts.

Whilst I was at JBS they told me about thier S2 Elise that they have for sale, check this out! http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/carsforsale/3/jbs-lotus-elise-s2-gts-450

Duncan over on 220.org is just about to finish Luke's 2.0 TFSi conversion in a VX, 375bhp with 6 speed / LSD / TC ect with a custom Pro-Alloy CC system as well :)

DG's fabricated all the engine mounts and exhaust / induction himself also there are a few photo's of the mounts finished design in this thread, I've seen them and 'robust' is an understatement!!!

Why would you want 400-600bhp in an Elise?

Because it turns them from nice little sports cars, to awsome beasts. ;)

Well I definatly would not want anything over 450, 400 probably about perfect tho!

You have a car with all the tactile cornering abilities & finess that you love but with phenomenal torque & power that will leave anything and I mean anything behind with the exception of Atoms / Ultima GTR's!

It's not a big boys p'ing competition, but my god go out in a 400bhp car and it's intoxicatingly addictive!!!

It's the nearest thing to a 1000cc sports bike with 4 wheels is the only way to begin to describe it, the acceleration in mine already at 300bhp is about the same as a bike above 50mph ;)

Mine should be 'done' soon & very happy to give you a pax ride John :)

Why not? whos say's that you HAVE to use it all??? with clever electronics you could make the power switchable between 2 or even 3 different maps!

Where are the photos? And it's better that you do the blog as you proceed. It will be a nightmare to do it at a later date.
