mambosasa Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 All, After some help. I removed the passenger side inertial reel to gain access to the the main bolt holding the clam down on the sides. The problem I have is that it has fully retracted and now 'digs' in whenever I try to pull it out. It does move, however whenever I pull the belt, the whole inner reel moves forward and the teeth dig into the case (as it would when you yank it in normal operation). The problem is, now matter what I try, or however slow I do it, the same thing happens. Now, I can't see any obvious way of over riding this unless its a case of dismantling it? Any thoughts? Bis.
chris_h Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I presume you have tried it at all different angles ?? As most of them are a ball in a dish so you have to have them at the correct position as if they are installed and on a level surface
mambosasa Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 Don't presume anything! Now that you say that, it made perfect sense. ISSUE RESOLVED Thanks Chris. Top man.
dobbo Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 They're a pain, aren't they ! For anyone doing this in the future - I used a freezer bag clip on the belt to stop it fully retracting (having learned the hard way !).
fentuz Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I found easier to refit it if you start by fitting the roller part. For some reasons, when this one sits on the the roll barre, the bell is easier to pull 1st roller 2nd top loop 3rd seat mount
FlyingExige Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Take it out - fit harness - don't refit! Jobs a carrot........................
