  1. Glad its sorted Martin. When a well known Lotus Service Independant managed to cock mine up completely in conjuction with Emerald themselves, I found a tuner with a Rolling Road that cost me £400 to get it sorted and that was about 5 years ago!
  2. My Sport 190 has one Martin, not sure how I get it to you though 🤔
  3. Horrible things - better with an S4S 😉
  4. Lovely Dave. Glad you got the asking price 👍. So 'twice as many cyllinders' - are you joining me in TVR world 😃?
  5. Glad you agree with my recommendation Alan. He's a top mechanic isn't he.
  6. Have you got a spare battery or jump starter pack Ray? Try the simplest things first is my motto!
  7. I agree with Paul. My battery charger showed fully charged on my S2, but when I tried to start it after a few months, I got the dreaded 'loud clicking' to indicate the battery hadn't got enough woomph. I'm not convinced about leaving trickle chargers on the car all the time and once our chargers show 4 out of 4 bars, I disconnect them for a week, then reconnect them. My thinking is that our chargers should display 'CHA' once the battery is fully charged, but they never do, (they display 4/4 bars), presumably cos the cars are drawing charge constantly for the alarms and ECUs (so will never be fully charged) and keeping a battery constantly charging is not good for it, so by disconnecting for a while and then reconnecting once they are down to 2 bars, you are as near as possible to simulating normal driving conditions. Please feel free to shoot my theory down in flames 😀.
  8. David Underwood in Dronfield, been using him for decades. What he doesn't know about Elises and Exiges isn't worth knowing. Tel: 07974 372223
  9. Try Brendan at Concept Performance. Not too far from Nottingham. He is the 'go to' man in the country for TVR bodywork repairs. Address: 5 Netherfield Wy, Netherfield Ln, Meden Vale, Mansfield NG20 9QU Get there:45 mins Phone: 07815 101096
  10. I've been using Aldi's Conditioners for years without a problem. £14.99 well spent 👍!
  11. Glad you've got it sorted matey. If you banged it with a lump hammer, I cant praise you highly enough 😀!
  12. Thanks Dean - bad terminology on my part. Its just a large PowerPack that you can re-charge with jump leads - essentially a big battery. Yes Foxy I assumed my battery was fine as it was absorbing the usual ~14v charge, but thats no indicator of the 'whoomph' it still possesses in Amps to actually turn the engine over.
  13. Had exactly the same on my S2 last week matey. Something in the air in our great city 😀? When I connected up to my jump starter the engine fired up immediately, so despite all the dash lights being on and bright, there was not enough juice in the battery to even get that rapid clicking sound out of the starter motor that usually indicates a dead battery. The battery was even showing normal voltage when on my trickle charger. Just bought a Yuasa 5000 battery, and normal service has been resumed. Sorry - I've forgotten where you live, but I can nip over with my jump starter or you can come over to Ecclesall to borrow it.
  14. I'm using Aldi chargers Phil. They've performed well, but I dont think their 'logic' is as good as CTEK or Optimate ones and suspect they may overcharge and end battery life prematurely, but for £12.99 I can't complain. Can't be the alternator as sadly I hardly use the car. I've gone for a Yuasa 5000, rated at 52Ah and 520A (EN) - never realised these are essentially the 'whoomph' figures for the battery and 063 is just the size!
  15. My Bosch Type 063 has given up after just over 3 years (2 months out or Warranty 😩). I'm thinking of trying a Varta as Bosch are made in China now. Any other recommendations please? Thanks, Andrew
