I posted on another forum and was told my issue is osmosis (sounds like a bad dose of something) which will require a non diy job ?

was recommended a lotus specialist in Maidenhead but it’s unpractical so is there anyone in midlands ?

ohh that looks nasty :(. Option 1 in Birmingham have a very strong reputation - not cheap but very good, and in this instance i think it is key to get the prep right otherwise it is likely to return.

Cheers Richard

i guess it’s going to be a zero credit transfer job as it sounds expensive , I heard Option 1 are good . I have rear brakes to sort and window regulator which in my estimation is more pressing and MOT compliant.😱

Sadly it’s one of the drawbacks of our plastic cars and not easy to get rid of. Most body shops will be able to get rid of them but very few know how to solve the problem long term, as has already been suggested use a reputable place that understands Lotus, Option 1 have been a go to on here for many years, Specialised Paintwork in Reading are another that know their stuff when it comes to blisters. The last time I saw any as bad as that were on a S2111s I owned, it was brand new from the factory in 2003 and the paint started falling off it in chunks after 3 months, turned out to be poorly handled in the paint shop at Hethel. Never seen them that bad on an Evora though.

Option 1 seems the choice , my son works at BMW and offered if their workshop could do at massive discount rate as he manager at the place ! Not sure if this would be ideal even given it’s a big cost saving ?

Carizma Melton Mowbray  Excellent reputation

Went to guys at Carizma nice chaps and gave a honest assessment

they couldn’t guarantee the work as they think due to this type of panel used by lotus the moisture penetration can remerge in time and that time can vary as it’s unpredictable ?
Going to Option 1 at some point to get another opinion and hopefully some longevity on the repairs ?

SMS near Spalding in Lincolnshire, long time Lotus and fibreglass paint specialists. One of the founders of the company has gone his own way, Paul .... I can't remember his surname.  He's also in Lincolnshire.  From what I've heard they are a little less costly than Option 1.

These guys did all the bodywork on the Esprit s1 that was restored on that TV show Salvage Hunters Classic Cars. They are proper.

Miles away from anywhere though in Spalding.
