• Global retail sales up 2% on 2017
• Concludes a landmark year for Lotus in 2018
• Growing confidence in the brand as new investment and development plans take shape

Lotus Cars has posted its strongest sales results in seven years with 1,630 cars sold worldwide in 2018.
Concluding a landmark year for the company, 2018 saw Lotus celebrate its 70th birthday, new majority ownership from Geely, substantial investment in product development and new facilities, and a number of senior appointments, with respected auto and luxury-sector leader, Phil Popham, joining as CEO.
Commenting on 2018’s sales, Phil Popham said: “The year’s results show success on many levels, in what is a new dawn for the brand and business. Strong sales and an increasing presence in many international markets underline growing confidence as new shareholder backing starts to shape our future. The many appointments to the company in the executive team and across the business demonstrate a real confidence and ability to deliver our ambitions for Lotus globally.”

  • LitP 2019 help

Hi folks It's that time of year again when we start planning Lotus in the Peak, and as usual we need volunteers - even more so this year because three key members of our team Phil, Jan and Laura Stone have decided to take a well-earned break. If you think you might like to help can I ask you to stick your name down on here or if you would prefer pm me please. As usual we need run group leaders and there are various other bits and pieces we could use help with but right now we have an urgent need for a social media manager - someone that can regularly add content to the LitP facebook page amongst other things. Could that be you? All volunteers will receive, as ever, much MLOC kudos and maybe even an LitP polo shirt!   Thanks   Dean, Dunc, Ray and the LitP team

    S1 Elise, can I use 205/45 R16 87W on the rear?

I've been offered some wheels and tyres from a friend, used but with good tread on them. Toyo Proxes T1-R
    185/55 R15 82V
205/45 R16 87W I don't really understand tyre sizes and what's OK/not to play with. I know the rears _should_ be 205/50 R16 not 205/45. What are the issues with using these sizes? Thanks

    Elise S1 Wipers... again

OK, so I've read through threads on here and on seloc, and the wiki articles and more. I know the original wipers on the S1 suck, and the answer is to upgrade to the S2 wiper arm. But... my S1 is totally original, everything is as it left the factory and it seems a shame to change it. So, I spent time looking around on parts sites and they all seem to think they have wiper blades that fit. Here's just one example: https://www.wiperblades.co.uk/elise-years-1996-to-2001-wiper-blades I'm guessing none of the listed blades do actually fit and it's just their compatibility data is wrong? Can anyone advise? Thanks

Musing on a change to suit my age group..

So after 12 years of Elise and exige ownership , and stretching my man maths to the limit I have been looking at a couple of cars to consider replacing the exige and boxster S with in the spring. It would be pretty rarified air for me and car price reflects keeping some cash back for service, maintainance and upgrades.  i don't have deep pockets to buy new but love the idea of owning both of these cars. Pluses and minuses to both I guess, so figured I would ask the MLOC massive which way they would go, and crucially any experiences with either car.  Couple of links below to spec and price I would consider. But not specifically these exact cars. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/audi/r8/audi-r8-4-2-fsi-quattro-2dr/9166495 https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/aston-martin/v8-vantage-coupe/aston-martin-vantage-vh2-v8-2006/9051068 So if you could, would you, and if you would, which one ??, oh and which will be worth most in 12 years time so I can buy a mclaren !!

New car at last S190 Pics updated

Well it looks like after a year away from cars, DIY and building work at home, and of course a new addition to the family it looks like Friday I'll be back behind a lotus wheel.    Train tickets booked, just hope it's not a return.
