Charles Cotton Hotel Open

I was told the owners have sold it, the people that have been running it for past 10 years leave at the end of May.

I booked direct and have had no cancellation, so I’m assuming the new owner will have people running it from June.

Will check with them once into June whether I need to find somewhere else.

I emailed the hotel using the contact shown under the booking and then started a chat with Expedia.  I had to screen shot the hotels reply saying its closed.  It was a right faff and I found Expedia a pain in the plum sacks to deal with.

It’s so weird, Expedia chased me to rebook.  They called a fair few times from Springfield USA.  So strange that they were so proactive with me and so inactive with you guys.  They even covered the extra as the rebooking was more expensive!  Thought at the time that this was only reasonable, but now I’m thinking I got lucky.  Sorry you’re having so many issues.

Don't know about anyone else, but new owners were supposed to be in place at beginning of June. I've rang them on Mon, Tuesday and today. No answer and no replies to my voicemails. I'm going to book somewhere else as a contingency. Lord knows if I'll be able to get a refund from Charles Cotton as I booked direct.

Hi Rob,

I visited Charles Cotton this Afternoon, they do have you booking unfortunately if you paid the previous owner it has not been passed on  

the previous owner did not to a handover just left the keys and cut off the Phone and Internet so thats why no one has been able to contact them they are very upset about the situation

I dont know if they have any availability, this Pub/ Bistro/ Hotel near me in Darley Dale has 5 rooms.  The food is good and there is a decent smallish car park which is camera monitored.  The owner Robert is a friend of mine.

Once the Charles Cottons internet is up and running in the next few days they will be able to confirm internet bookings I do have a mobile number of someone there

Thanks Ray, I’ll try to make contact with them in a few days. I think I only paid a small deposit.

looking forward to a couple of 🍺 at the Friday bbq now I can just walk over the road afterwards
