Dave-hp Posted February 22 Posted February 22 (edited) Hey cool motor lovers! My Elise has been off the road since the end of Oct, hibernating in the garage away from this typical British winter weather! But alas, one week to go and March is here, and if its anything like today, Im taking her out onto the open road again! Taxing her from the 1st March. Bring it on! Anyone else been locked away for the winter, and now desperate for some bendy roads to bring that driving grin back? Although she has been stored away, Ive added a new cup holder. Bolts into the two pre-cut holes in the under tray level with the gear lever. Son made it for me for my birthday, although it took till Christmas to finish it! He even anodised it himself, with a contraption in the kitchen! Somewhere to keep the water bottle! Edited February 22 by Dave-hp grammar Quote

MrWill Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Mine has been away over the same peroid as yours and ive done or had done a few jobs New clutch and gearbox and geo and new fixed rear wheel spacer for the wheels which are offset for toyota. Just sanded and repainted the centre console and now on to replacing the nylon window slider brackets to stop a small but annoying rattle. Then new window waist seals which I paid a small fortune for a year or so ago. Few other jobs to amuse myself too such as 'making' a couple of lotus coffee tables for the man cave and refurbing some cruddy front hub carriers which I picked up for very little and fitting new bearings and hub brackets. They'll go on the spares shelf for now. Hope to be ready to go in a few weeks. Sad really I've done all the rebuild refresh jobs on the car now. Getting an itch to buy something else to start 🤔 Looking forward to getting out with MLOC soon. MrWill I don't think my camera format is compatible with the uploads but if I have some time later I'll put so.e pics up. 1 Quote
MrWill Posted February 23 Posted February 23 peek-a-boo repainted centre console Mancave lotus coffee tables Refurbished front hub carriers - not quite finished Removal of drivers window before replacing nylon slide blocks Window seals, three bolts then remove glass. Its these little dimples on the inside of the block which wear and can allow the window to rattle. 1 Quote

Eric Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Evora still SORNed but did get out in the Elise this week when the roads were very dry. Wow, it didn't take long to get properly re-acquainted with the Lotus magic though - can't wait for Spring and some fantastic (and hopefully sunny) road trips 😎. 1 Quote
Popular Post DeanB Posted March 3 Popular Post Posted March 3 Mine has been on the road all winter - eek! It still passed its MOT on Saturday though 👍 2 1 Quote
winthattt Posted March 5 Posted March 5 S1 Exige got taxed and a mini Lotus in the Peaks run on Sunday. Via Gelia looks a mess as half the trees have been chopped due to ash die back. Could not see the speed cameras but there are plenty of warning signs. Need a new road for Ltip. Quote

Don't worry Keith, Uncle Dunc has sorted that 😊👌 No Via Gellia this year. 1 Quote
duncx Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Yep, LitP runs sorted and ready for practice very soon! Back on topic, mine passed its MOT yesterday and I will probably tax it in the next day or so. Only thing putting me off is that there is still quite a bit of salt residue on the roads - grrr Quote
Oakman Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Speed Cameras not on the Via Gellia, yet ! They're still doing the trees, it looks like a tornado has been through. Quote
