DeanB Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Martin the 135s already have ported heads. I think Janspeed did them. They also have a different map. Apparently most of them made nearer 140 bhp but Lotus didn't want them to take sales from the 111s. Cams might get you 150 bhp.... Martin the 135s already have ported heads. stockhome Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Yes the 135 engine does make more with the right mods Mine is a 135 sport which has the same engine spec as the 135r and it made 143 at monster with an ITG induction kit, janspeed small bore 4-2-1 and hanger 111 exhaust Very nice car enjoy
DeanB Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 So Tom have you picked up the new motor yet? What's it like? Any pics?
Tomcar Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 Yes, picked it up last weekend, and I have to say it has exceeded all my expectations. Its not rocketship fast, but is pleasantly brisk and sticks to the road like glue. The handling particularlyl is much better than I remember from previous experience in an S1 some 10 years ago. It needs a bit of a deep clean (seats out, wheels off) but I am well chuffed! I've got it booked in at TGA later this week for a cambelt and a PRT then I'm looking at an evening session at Donington in a couple of weeks to give it a proper workout.
Alex B Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 July 22nd donny evening with LOT about 10 spaces left. Car looks swell!
Martin R Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Tom, nice. The LSS is a bit harsh for pot holed roads, However i think they are quite good on track. I like suspension with a bit of compliance so i can tell what is going on. Is the Donny evening with LOT? If it is a few from here will be on it IMO you would go a long way to beat LOT trackdays.
Tomcar Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 Thanks for the nice comments. The suspension is firm, but I don't find it too harsh, I'm still learning about what is going on, but for the moment, I've not yet come to the point where it does something unexpected. Maybe I'm not going fast enough :-) I looked at the LOT evening that but they want an extra £30 to 'join' and I doubt I'll get to another of their days this year. Bookatrack have Friday 19th. Although there is a mix of cars and risk of encountering some driving gods in £500 Golfs, a trackday is a good way to start the weekend rather than the week.
DeanB Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Tom get your name down for the Chatsworth event on Sunday 21st July. A run a meet and a picnic. It will be great. Have a look in the site store. And the MLOC@Chatsworth 2013? thread. P.s L.O.T will sometimes waive their joining fee. But keep it to yourself
scatty Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Try javelin as well Tom. They usually run a good trackday...
