And they've obviously totally irrisponsible, uncosiderate t*wats because its not the first time they've done it - so they'd be willing to do it again. And if he doesn't press charges, no case, so they walk away.

And if he doesn't press charges, no case, so they walk away. Unfortunately, it does look that way, but I hope to God you're not right. I'm not sure whether they'd have much of a case against them now as they've practically been trialled by the public. I do hope if it gets to court though, that the publicity generated will be used to show just how much outrage their actions have caused and they make a proper examples of them i.e. five years instead of five months.

Yeah, I know I'd be well scared of 3 spoilt rich kids! I would have thought the fact if they get prosecuted or not is now imaterial. Lets be honest you get very little punishment for far worse than what they did. You generally find what goes around comes around IMO.

As I unsderstood, they haven't done anything to really help but now they claiming the credit ... Am I right Kim?

They are the sort that if they get a criminal record (probably community service) and have their names dragged through the mud, would come back to the elise in a few months time with a can of paint stripper:( Being as the owner did not report the incident at the time and has not to our knowledge used any of the london dealers or specialists to repair the car, it makes you think that the car may be just an "accessory" or image thing to the owner rather than them being an "enthusiast". It would also account for them not surfacing on any of the lotus forums. I may be completely off the mark with these thoughts though

YES .... one of the agreed ways of trying to find the owner was by way of a press release. Unfortunately PH decided to shut down the thread on their website due to swearing/threats etc. Whilst I agreed with their action it took them ages (until today really) to get the thread up and running. As a result the media (Sun in particular) were unable to reference anything. That was disappointing as the Sun had promised a 'donation' (SELOC to benefit) which was not forthcoming as they just couldn't get the info. By the time they did everybody had got hold of it. PH are now owned by Haymarket so rely upon advertising hence the reason they want to get their name mentioned.
Jonathan E Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Kimbo, Well done to you and all the others at SELOC for getting it as far as you have,I can understand how dissapointed everyone feels as any mention so far has credited pistonheads and just about anybody else apart from SELOC. Very dissapointed to hear that SELOC won't be getting a donation seeing as yourself Sun and Esprit did most of the work. Lets just hope the little fu£$ers get the justice they deserve. On another note, and please don't take this the wrong way. Haymarket do indeed own pistonheads(just one of the reasons I don't post there). However, SELOC imho are also totally driven by advertising these days, they moderate at a hectic pace at times just incase the advertisers are offended,In my mind this is just the same as Pistonheads. To be fair to SELOC they never took the thread down and respect to them for that,therefore I think the credit should go to them and the members like yourself. The best "reward" we could all hope for from this episode is that the little scrotes get prosecuted for what they did. I'm not knocking SELOC in any way,I post on there myself from time to time(although some of the "members" could do with removing themselves from the darkness of their own anal tracts) but if you have that many members you will always have some ego's. Once again I think what you and the others have done is excellent......Well done. Probably one of, if not the best threads I've ever read on a Lotus board. Regards Jon
