amoss
There has been an increasing trend for people, usually not locals, to buy houses near motor sport venues and then make a noise complaint, An e-petition has been started to attempt to block this: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/72458
Alex B
Doesn't just affect motorsport venues. Music venues are another business that suffers from the same problem.

MSH
Signed. Some friends and I used to have similar problems with a club night we ran years ago, despite the venue having been a music club for decades. NIMBYism is sadly hitting new levels these days. KurtB
You'd be surprised at the number of noise complaints at airfields! We went through a time when if we needed to run jet engines after 10:30pm we had to get special permission, and then only run at idle power!!!! Thankfully common sense prevailed and the people who chose to live near an active military unit (with a hundred year history) were informed that we sometimes need to do high power runs for the defense of the realm, and not because we felt like disturbing the neighbours....
