30 years ago this weekend, the Lotus Elise was launched at the Frankfurt motor show. Today quite a few other lotus owners and I are in Bolzano in northern Italy to celebrate this.

This Friday is a national holiday in Germany, so I've booked a hotel in Colmar for the Fri and Sat night. Colmar is supposed to be one of the nicest towns in France to visit. Hope to find as well some decent roads to the West of it, and might visit Strasbourg on the Sunday on the way home.

Not posted for a while, but a bit of an update, the weekend near Colmar was going well until on the 5th Oct I had a bit of an accident. Downhill on a wet road, braked going into a corner, tyres locked, skidded into an ongoing car. No one hurt. Insurance all sorted, my elise currently having repair work done at a specialist I found in Germany. Car should be back on the road by end of March 2026 latest.
