As it turns out, fell at the first hurdle as my spare set are both for the passenger side. So, out with the angle grinder and flap wheel. Twenty minutes later hours of carefully applied carbon fibre and resin are no longer attached to the sill cover( in fact, once I had completely ground back the edges to bare plastic, the whole top section lifted as one strip with the  aid of a broad chisel. ) . Anyway, both covers now sanded with 40 and then 80 grit and now more or less ready for the black epoxy resin coat and the carbon fibre matting .

I bet there'll be no stopping you once you get this skill perfected.  Carbon fibre door mirrors?  Carbon fibre gear shroud?  Must be lots more ...

Got the mirrors . No gear surround as the shifter is exposed. Carbon door cards but managed to sell the leather and Alcantara ones for the same price so that purchase was carbon neutral ( whoops, I meant cash neutral) . Round two of the door sill covers is progressing much better. I have used/ am using a product from XCR which is much less viscous than the Mouldcraft product I used  last time. And with better results so far. The base coat has gone one on a treat .

And they looked pretty good. But the edges were not great . So another round of sanding and yet another resin coat applied this morning. Image of that to follow. This is what they looked like at 10.00am today
