Soft top issue

I have recently purchased a soft top (second hand) from a reputable Lotus dealer but it just doesn’t seem to sit right. There’s a bit of a dip at the front. It’s a 2015 s3 Elise.

Does anyone know if adjusting the tensioners will correct this?

 

I’m sure the roof on my old 2007 s2 elise was tighter than this.

Do you think it’s a bit stretched?  It might relax if you clean it, soak it then treat it.  I use autoglym fabric hood cleaner.

It seems a bit stretched in the length front to back. I'm not sure if your suggestion will work without trying it. I am wondering whether adding tension to the adjusters will pull it into the channels more?

Be aware if you tighten the tensioners too much, you'll just snap the cable at the fitting where it bolts to roof.

Yes, I  was a bit weary about adjusting it. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi Mark, no idea about the soft top unless you put it into a washing machine on a hot cycle and see if it shrinks 😄.

Did i see you yesterday lunchtime with the roof?
