maxj0
Well it looks like I have a slow puncture on one of my A048s on my recently purchased S2 Exige. The Alloys were recently powder coated so I'm hoping for the moment that there's a fault with the tyre fitting / valve. Failing that I'm going to hunting about for a front tyre. Anyone know a trustworthy tyre fitting garage I could pop to to get them to take a look? After a less than satisfactory experience with a big chain fitter in Ilkeston wrecking an alloy on my evora I'm keen to ba cautious with my alloys. winthattt
I always take the wheels not my car to the fitter, I don’t trust them to lift an Exige correctly. I’ve not had a problem with the tyre fitting but it is the luck of the draw on who you get. If you do let them remove your wheels, they will offer a free tracking check. I my experience I would not bother, is just a way to charge you £30. Their equipment is often damaged, not calibrated or they don’t know how to use it so the tracking can be pretty random. CDM2018
I had all four tyres changed late last year at high street place as I ordered via black circle TBF they were pretty attentive and checked where the jacking points were I showed them book and discussed torque and pressure settings. didn’t do the tracking as supposed to get that done at central lotus but then lockdown came and I put it on hold and will do it this October when it goes in for service and some work
Elisemadray
The Trouble with fitting tyres is not the person its the Machine they use so the guy tries to to care then the blinking machine nicks the rim
frank7
I have the same question since the rear tyres on my Elise will require changing soon. My plan is to go to Central Lotus in Nottingham as first port of call. There must be specialist tyre fitters out there but it is a concern. winthattt
Elise, Exige wheels are not really special in any way do any good fitter should be ok. Care does depend on the individual. If any damage is done it should be on the inside. Jacking and geo are another matter and would use a specialist.
tron2k3
I've used Lindley Autocentres. Their mobile guy came out to fit 2 new rears on my Exige, took great care in everything they did, no marks on the wheels and used black wheel weights on my black wheels, which is a bit of attention to detail I appreciated. They also used a Bag jack so no risk of leaving any marks or damage under the car.
LRS7
Adam at Central Lotus just sorted me a full set of AO52,s for my cup 👌🏻 Pucker job, I still had the original 48,s on with my17 date stamps so thought I’d better get them swapped 🙈
maxj0
Actually I ended up at Central Lotus this afternoon and Adam was amazing - really quickly fixed the valve which was not fitted correctly and took the time to talk through a few other items too. Really impressed. I know where I'll be going in the future for such things.
