Anyone used / recommend Option 1 Fine Auto Refinishing?

I'm looking for a good body shop to freshen up the front of the Exige, it is plastered with stone chips. Possibly some other bits and bobs too. It has been years since I've had to have anything like this done so a bit out of touch!

Bit of Google searching and I've found these guys which aren't a million miles away. Seem to specialise in Lotus and TVR so obviously using to working with Fibreglass.

Has anyone used them or know someone who has?

Heard nothing but good things about them but the quote they gave me was on the very high side. People get hung up on repairing fibreglass, I’ve said this before if they have experience of fibreglass and they can be bothered to do the job properly any sprayer can do it. It’s finding someone who can be bothered though.

My quote was very high when I spoke to them - that being said, I've had 3 fibreglass/paint repairs across my Lotus over the years, none I've been happy with if I'm honest. It's not the fibreglass repair, its the paint and matching it that I always notice. And (correct me if I'm wrong here) but if you don't prop fibreglass properly before painting, doesn't it look decent initially, then deteriorate over a relatively short period?

I think it was Dan who told me, if it's your pride and joy and you want a perfect job, take it to Option1, otherwise use someone else.

Used a well known spray shop in Burton with good reviews and they were shit, ended up down the small claims route but found a one man band local to me in Chesterfield who is very experienced and takes pride in the finished article and like I said that’s the key. If they can be bothered it will be as good as option 1. Repairing fibreglass and spraying cars isn’t rocket science.
