jody391 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 So after I thought I could see a water leak from the inlet manifold/gasket I needed to get the gasket changed. This though is a nightmare without removing the clam. On the earlier s1 rear clam you can remove the divider. So after a cup of tea I decided to remove the rear divider by cutting the grp. The idea is to make some aluminium plates up to be able to bolt the panel back in after any maintenance. The ecu will remain bolted by the two fixings on the left and to remove the panel one bolt will need to be removed. After the inlet manifold gasket was replaced and the thermostat whilst I was there changed for an 82deg unit. All was refilled bled and all was back to normal. And the result which allows me to continue to fit the boot carpet.
kieranexige Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Nice work Jody. Looks allot easier with the section now being removable.
