Lotus Elise Vvc Engine Knocking

Hello All

 

I have a series 1 VVC Elise. With 53,000 miles. Well looked after and driven 'nicely'

 

It had the head done on it 4 years ago. Apart from that never missed a beat.

 

Until now.v:tsk

 

The Elise has been parked up in my garage for 2 1/2 weeks while I've been away. I started it up and ticked over fine, as I moved it out of the garage I heard a knocking sound.

 

After investigation the knocking sound is present at exactly 1500 rpm. At idle and past 1500 rpm there is no knocking.

 

Had the cam cover off and all visibly looks good.

Turn it off and check the crank pulley is not loose.
