Phil S1
There's just no stopping him.... Following on from the Jim Clark S1 Elise that Emmanuel Beaufils produced back in February:- http://www.midlandslotus.co.uk/forum/topic/62714-latest-heritage-s1-elise-from-lmsc-jim-clark-t49a/ he has just sent me photos of his latest S1 Exige creation. A few months back now, Emmanuel mentioned to me that he wanted to produce another heritage styled S1 Exige using Old English White for the finished colour, but he was struggling for inspiration on overall colour scheme. I have a book called 'The Lotus Book - Type 1 to Type 72'. Although all the photos are black and white it gave me a few good starting points and after a little bit of research on the internet I happened upon the somewhat rare Lotus 42B (only 2 in existence) and this particular one in Castrol colours caught my eye:- More info on the actual race car can be found here:- http://www.oldracingcars.com/lotus/42b/ I sent the picture to Emmanuel and he loved it. I didn't realise that he had already found a car for the project but here it is, finished! The Exige has had a recent engine rebuild by Essex Autosport and Emmanuel has fitted all new suspension, bearings, dampers etc...before performing his usual conversion to LHD with full interior and exterior restoration. Something not immediately noticeable on this one is that in his quest for the vintage look Emmanuel has fitted Elise-sized Compomotive wheels such that he could fit a higher profile tyre. This was to try and give the wheels and car more of a GT40 style look. The seats and steering wheel again are a nod to the GT40. Anyway, here's the photos, hope you like them:-

Phil S1
Seems like that's a winner then! I'm sure Emmanuel will be really pleased to know you all like it. Virtually all the Elises and Exiges he buys are converted to LHD during their transformation.
mambosasa
Has he replaced the dials? They seem white. I would love that mod.
