Change Tyres Or Not Before Curborough On Thurs

evening all,

Changed my toe links today in the rain and put some shiny spitfire engineering units on... very sturdy pieces of kit!

Theres ~0.5mm until i hit the wear limit on my tyres.

I`ve got a new set of advan neovas in the post and will be here Monday.

I`m getting my geo setup Monday but wondered whether i should change my tyres before the day?

How much would a "nearly at the limiter" worn set effect me on track (also thinking about being legal for the way home)....

cheers,

ollie

Like fish says , depends if its wet....

Personally I'd save your new ones and put them on after curborough. You won't do too much damage too them...

Coolio, cheers.

Take your point with the tyres also John. Unfortunately because of time the geo will be done before the tyres are fitted. Doh! Will try and get the chap to take it into account. He's specialist lotus anyway.

Tbh, the wear seems to be fairly uniform

I would change those tyres if I was you. If it is wet next week it will have an effect on braking distance if your down to circa 2mm from probably circa 7mm when new.

Don't think it'll make a huge amount of difference either way. You won't wear them down much at Curborough if it's dry and its a really low speed track so wouldn't worry to much about wet braking distance etc (especially as you'll be on your own).

If you get time I'd get them done, it not don't worry.

I'll see then if I get time. Thinking about it may not have time but I'll see.....

Thanks for the feedback.

It would be good to see you Scatty.

Be prepared to watch a novice in action as this will be the first time I've driven an Elise on track!
