Driver Training

I was thinking of giving myself a new year treat of some driver training. I know the car limits days are raved about on SELOC, but does anybody have any experience of anything similar a little closer to the east midlands?

Cheers

Speak to Mike Williams (MGW Racing - see his advertising banner). He's a qualified instructor and works at different circuits. I'm sure he can sort out something if you book a track day.

Nothing comes close to a Walshy day wherever he's running it. Some insurers even offer a discount if you've been on one of his courses. Go wherever he's doing it as soon as you can, it'll be worth it.

On the other hand, if you've ever been drinking with Walshy, the insurers will probably want to add a loading!

Can't remember the cost but I did a four car day with Walshy and you get more driving/instruction time than you would expect! A great day and well worth it.

Thanks guys

Looking at the website (www.carlimits.com) it appears to be £220 each for a 4 person day or £440 each for a 2 person day.

I might send an email to see if they do it anywhere else apart from North Weald in Essex but there is no mention of another venue on the website.

They do it at Blyton Park sometimes, but not as many dates as they do at North Weald.

I'd be interested in doing a day at Blyton Park, probably in late Feb/early March if a few other people were up for it I guess carlimits might put a date on...

There is a trackday at Blyton in Feb for £99 open pit. I'm sure there'd be plenty of people who'd be happy to passenger and show you lines etc

Thanks, I did look at that but am on a stag do that weekend.

I'm more after some general training to better understand the on limit behaviour of the car and become a better driver rather than just the best lines round the track.
