I'm sure there are more, but my memory is very bad, so I'll have to edit if I recall any.

This thread has made me smile.

I have too many bands to list here due to 20+ years of going to gigs, concerts and festivals.

The first few of your list really made me smile as I used to see the Levellers every christmas and we used to have a great time crowd surfing (been threatened a few times by bouncers though!!!).

Fond memories of Ian Dury and the blockheads supporting Paul Weller, Moby's set at Glastonbury, Texas's little intamate set in a tent at V, Jarvis Cocker throwing a strop and cutting a performance short in Birmingham, getting rat-ar5ed on diamond white at a Utah Saints gig at Rock City, the first time I saw Athelete at Demont Uni, the first time I heard the Manics sing Motorcycle Emptiness live, a crazy night with the mighty Spear of Destiny and the Alarm at the Charlotte in Leicester, taking my wife to her first festival (even if it was V), and many, many more......

Ah, the memories......thank you for prompting them.....

I haven't seen as many as Fiona, but he's a few for the medium oldies:

The Cure

Fields Of The Nephilim

The Mission

Gene Loves Jezebel

The Buzzcocks

Hawkwind

Foos

System Of A Down

Metallica - sorry but this new album is pish

Then there's the ones Fiona's dragged me to which I won't admit to.

Some good bands in there folks, ive seen too many to remember them all but here goes a few!

Glasto x4, Reading x4, Weller, Neil Young, McCartney, The Eagles, Stone Roses x4, Ian Brown x5, Charlatans, Dylan x4, Manics, Prodigy, Ray Davies, Page and Plant, Oasis, Chemical Brothers, The Who, Babyshambles, Kings of Leon, Happy Mondays.

The best of all was Ray Davies just for his sheer energy and enthusiam for a man of his age, still rocking like a good un!

But did you fly all the way to New York to see them at Jones Beach as they were never going to tour outside the US again? Only to find they came to the UK 2 years after

Prefer the early Rush stuff though, later stuff is a bit samey

Devo

Ali says... "Whip it good, Whip it real good"

I just remembered that i went and saw Thunder. At the end of the concert the drummer threw out his drumsticks and one hit me about an inch under my eye. I didnt even see it coming, just felt ouch and then a mob dived onto in front of me. It would have looked so cool if i could just have caught it. Still, its better than having it impaled in my left eyeball

Dr H and I have the same music taste! Also seen White Lion and Mike Tramp a good few times, DLR, Motley Crue, Extreme, Thunder. Saw Hardline support Extreme a good few years back. AIC were great and saw Jerry Cantrell solo in Manchester a few years back.

Saw Kip Winger last year in London - his new album is really good.

I'm also a huge Neil Young fan (saw him in March) and also into bands like Wilco, Ryan Adams, Jayhawks, Blue Mountain.

When we saw Rush in Sheffield last year I caught Geddy's dryer t-shirt. My taekwondo training came in useful as the chap in front tried to take it off me.

Greg, it could only happen to you. Makes a change from the side of a bath hitting you in the eye

I forgot the Eagles as Liz made me go. ( good to be honest though )

Yup, got all of them - I'm a completist! Do you have V for Vagina the remixes? It's not out here yet but I "acquired" it on the internet.

It must be out now as my g/f got it in HMV. We also met the Monster Magnet guys after a gig at the Oxford Zodiac and had a drink/chat with them- made our weekend!

Favourite Tool track is 'Pushit' on the Salival DVD box set- stunning!

Good stuff Fiona - you obviously have great taste in music (and Honda converted cars) I forgotten I'd seen Thunder, also seen Gun and Kings X. Others too but can't remember them at the minute.

I saw Hardline support Extreme so probably on the same tour many moons ago. Saw them at the Sheffield Arena.

Did you ever see Mike Tramp when he went on to Freak of Nature after White lion? White Lion are touring again but without the original guitar player (Vito Bratta) it's not the same. Mind you AIC did Download the other year with a new lead singer! Skinny black guy with a cool afro, hardly a replacement for Layne though.

One band I wished I'd seen was Tesla. They are touring again now though so maybe.......trouble is I'd just feel old and my waist length hair went a number of years back

Love gigs, music really is better live.

Been to loads over the years and got a few coming up soon, namely....

Oasis

Queen

Goldfrapp (...for Ruth)

Pigeon Detectives

Pendulum (sooooooooooo looking forward to this one!!!)

Ting Tings

Probably going to add Elbow to this list too after watching them on Jools Holland earlier in the week, seemed very good. That'll be Oasis, Queen and them over 4 nights though which may be a little excessive!!!

Should be a good few weeks, apart from The Ting Tings they're all before early december! I may very well be a bit deaf for Christmas!!!
