Progress update - I have no parts. :P

Ordered big end bearings, mains, piston rings, gasket sets, timing belt, clutch all last week and still nothing has arrived. Damn its ground this project to a complete standstill.

Bah, hate it when that happens. Had that happen at work, waiting for parts, they don't arrive, "oh, one of them is delayed, we don't do part shipping" argghhhh... then today, we find they've delayed it again.

Oh yes its so annoying. I ordered some other stuff off the web that i really wasnt in a hurry for like a washing machine motor and a hoover and they arived next day!!!! Typical.

When I was looking for my Elise at the end of last Summer, I came across a T-series engined car that was painted in a Union Flag design. The cooling issues put me off [as I like to trackday my car] but it will be great to follow the progress of your project.

Very tidy looking install. ;) What bhp are you getting?

ENGINE SET UP TO ROUND THE 325 MARK, GIVING A POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO OF 401 BHP RUNNING AT 10 PSI OF BOOST.

Not meaning to doubt you, and purely out of interest, but 325bhp from that engine. In my years of rovers I've only seen a handful running that sort of bhp from that engine - AN racing being the notable tuners of big hp as I remember. What have you done to get that? I am assuming forged engine, T28 (or custom turbo?), larger intercooler??

Like the precision equipment on the wheel! :(

Have you fabricated the engine mounts yet?

Can you use the same gearbox etc as the K?

Hehe! An essential part of any job! Rover turbo uses a PG1 gearbox but with an LSD. All the mounting is the same and it looks very similar. The bellhousing is slightly different and I needed to use the clutch release arm from the elises gearbox as the lever arm points up and the rover one points down. oh and also the gear linkage needs a spacer making up as the mounting pillars are 20mm shorter on the turbo one. apart from the spacer though it uses the same mountings etc. which is very useful. I finished getting the engine in at 5pm on sunday so had to rush off for mothers day so i'll think about the mounting this week.
