Nordschleife Experience With Lotus

RSR Nürburg will run its first 'Lotus @ The Ring' schools on August 10th and 28th. The Nürburg-based race school has taken delivery of six brand-new Lotus Exige S cars for use in its highly acclaimed Nordschleife courses. Customers from all over the world will be able to 'arrive and drive' a track-prepared Exige with instruction, insurance and fuel all included in one price.

"Lotus has a fantastic history here at the Nürburgring," says Ron Simons, Chief Instructor and Company Director. "Some of the marque's most famous victories were fought over the old Nordschleife. Now customers from all over the world can learn for themselves why the perfect balance of power and light weight of Lotuses makes them so capable and so much fun."

Roger Becker, Director of Vehicle Engineering for Group Lotus, said "the Lotus Exige is the perfect sportscar to learn the famous and challenging Nordschleife circuit. The Exige S is a phenomenal tool that flatters and encourages the less experienced driver and challenges those with higher skill levels with a perfect combination of safe and secure handling, unparalleled performance and peerless driver feedback to give a brilliantly rewarding driving experience."

RSR has over 10 years of experience at the Nürburgring Nordschleife and are excited to be producing a program working in conjunction with Lotus Cars.

Courses are expected to retail for around €945 per person, based on two drivers sharing one car for 6-hours of tracktime. Courses begin with RSR's famous Convoy Training, where an instructor leads small groups over the course on the correct line.

The 21km Nürburgring Nordschleife is not only the world's longest permanent race circuit, but also one of the world's toughest. With around 170 individual corners and a drop and rise of 1000ft every single lap, it's one of the most challenging tracks ever devised. As such radios are used to communicate with each driver in the convoy, pointing out all the visual cues used to position the car on the ideal line. After convoy training is finished, instructors take the passenger seat and provide personal training for each driver. The day finishes with a high-speed taxi lap, in which an experienced instructor shows the student just what the car is capable of.

As well as August 10th and 28th, dates are also being set in September, October and the first week of November. There will be also be two day packages including the Nordschleife, a road tour through the Eifel and Ardennes mountains and ending with at the 7km Spa Francorchamps circuit.

  • Adventures of an S1 Elise in Germany

Some of you will know, but for the rest, I'll be working in Germany near Mannheim until end of 2026 with 75% of my time there, and 25% back home. As i fancy doing some different roads, and I've booked two weekend driving tours with Delightful Driving company (run by Elisa Artoli), on Thursday 10th July I'll be setting of in my S1 Elise, and 4 days later I plan to arrive at my apartment. I plan to post about my driving adventures over there, so keep an eye on this blog should you be int

    LitP 2025 photos

Does anyone have any good photos of this year's LitP that they wouldn't mind sharing? Absolute Lotus magazine would like to publish a short report of the event and need some photos. Ideally I think they would like a selection of pics from the entire weekend so bbq, pootle, runs, Sunday breakfast stop the procession down Winnats Pass and Bamford. Photos of the people aswell as the cars are also welcomed. If you have any and are happy for them to go in the magazine without a credit or pa

    Exige V6 - Rear tyres

Rear tyres will need changing fairly soon.................... My Exige is currently fitted with 265/35R18 rears.  The Sport 380/410/430 are fitted with 285/30R18.  Would there be any benefit in going with a bigger profile rear tyre?  I'm just looking at some options.  Cup2's are proving difficult to find.
