any one knw bout the thin black strips that go round the rear arches on a S1? what are they, how they fit and where do you get them from, think they fit them onto 111s's? they look like they may protect the paint wondered are they any good? :drive:

cheers chris, but not on about the sticker stuff, these that im on about are like plastic long strip that sit around the edge of the rear of the rear arch, excuse the bad english, they go all the way round to the bottom at the back of th arch where the difflector is.

These ??

If so then i think they had to be added to some models due to the tyres sticking out of the wheel arch to much.

probably from a lotus dealer as a 111s official part

They will probably only look right if you have got wide wheels though ??

Apparently these are crazy expensive and only available from main dealers.

Yep - £80 pair, Lotus only.

Technically they're needed for the MoT if you run 225 rear tyres, but we've not had any issues in over 5 years.

When you ask for them I think you'll find that they are called 'SPATS', or 'Wheel Arch Spats'.

Hope that helps,

I'm so glad someone has said that, its been bugging me all day because i couldn't remember what they were called.

I was thinking about getting a set of spats...but £100 each side!!!!!

S1 111s and 2nd batch of 135 Sports and 160 Sports have them fitted as standard.

I have been told not to waste my money as they won't add much extra protection anyway...it was just the regulations requirement for road worthyness when new.

Let me know if you find any cheaper?
